*Thank goodness the U.S. Marshals and ASP Trooper were able to detain and arrest this individual, without any issues. The best parts of the arrest, is the suspect trying to get information as to how he was tracked from Texas, to Arkansas, even after throwing his phone out the window!...LOL. I apologize but it will be boring to some, but to others, thank you for appreciating, how the Agencies collaborated during this encounter. God bless.* NEWS LINKS: https://www.kltv.com/2026/04/02/affidavit-rusk-county-man-killed-wife-by-striking-her-head-with-ax-15m-bond-set/ https://www.kltv.com/2026/04/02/affidavit-rusk-county-man-killed-wife-by-striking-her-head-with-ax-15m-bond-set/ On 03/18/2026, I, Trooper Anthony Freeman was notified by Troop J Communications of a BOLO for a murder suspect out of Texas, who was currently traveling north on State Highway 7 towards Dover. At the time I was currently patrolling the area, so I began traveling North to try and locate the subject. Due to the possibility of the suspect being ahead of me, I drove up to Pelsor to see if I could catch the suspect. After making it to Pelsor, I was unable to successfully locate the suspect but was notified by Sgt. Brenda Smith that the US Marshall’s Service had located the suspect and was tailing him. I then began traveling back down south on State Highway 7 where I intercepted the suspect and the Marshall’s around Moccasins Gap. Once I turned around, I was able to be the lead car and conducted a felony takedown on the suspect vehicle. The suspect complied with commands and went into custody without further incident. We confirmed the identity of the driver, Scott Thompson, who was the wanted individual. The vehicle was towed by Russellville Auto, and I transported Mr. Thompson to the Pope County Detention Center, where he will be held.
