On January 21, 2024, several law enforcement agencies in Morris County, New Jersey received 911 calls about a reckless driver. At one point, the 65-year-old driver stopped her vehicle in the middle of the road and a couple of bystanders put her car in park and got her out of the vehicle. Patrolman Abrusci was first on scene and immediately observed signs of impairment. Because of her level of intoxication, the woman was unable to perform standardized field sobriety tests. She was placed under arrest and transported to the police station. The police report indicates she was unable to provide an adequate amount of breath. She was cited and released to her son.
