On May 25, 2022, New Mexico state investigators questioned Robert Jesse Strand, a 39-year-old Sandoval County law enforcement officer, after tracing suspected child exploitation material to his personal phone. Strand was told he was free to leave. But hours later, he was arrested after investigators uncovered disturbing evidence on his devices. In this episode of **Evidence Lab Interrogation**, we examine the police interrogation, the evidence investigators had already gathered, and the investigation that ultimately led to Strand's conviction. In September 2025, Strand pleaded no contest to four charges involving child sexual exploitation material.
