On May 24, 2025, Rio Rancho Police Officer Salido was blocking eastbound traffic at an intersection because of a traffic collision that was blocking lanes of traffic. Officer Salido observed a vehicle driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of traffic. The vehicle was being driven by a 30-year-old woman. Officer Salido made contact with the woman who admitted to consuming alcohol. Sgt. Saina was called to the scene in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. The woman was eventually placed under arrest and was transported to the Rio Rancho Police Station. She agreed to provide breath samples and the results were 0.17% and 0.16% BAC.
