On April 12, 2023, Bowling Green police officers were dispatched to a hit and run motor vehicle accident. After speaking with the victim, officers were able to locate the at-fault vehicle a short distance away in a parking lot. The 23-year-old driver had no pants on and it took officers several minutes to convince the woman to put her pants on and exit the vehicle. She then refused to cooperate with the investigation. Eventually, a female officer was able to gain her confidence and the woman agreed to perform standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests, the woman was arrested for DUI and a list of other charges. At the Bowling Green police station, she submitted to an evidentiary breath test and the result was 0.144% BAC. It was then revealed that the was the woman's 3rd DUI arrest. She was charged with (1) Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI); (2) Driving with a prohibited blood alcohol concentration; (3) Having an open container of alcohol in her vehicle; (4) Improper backing of a vehicle; and (5) "Hit Skip" (also known as hit and run). On June 12 2023, she pled guilty to the OVI charge. The other 4 offenses were dismissed. She was fined $600 plus court costs, ordered to attend a 6-day Driver's Intervention Program, her license was suspended for 1 year, and she was placed on probation for 2 years.
