On 05/06/2026 at approximately 9:46 PM, I was traveling northbound on Towson Avenue approaching South D Street when I observed a dark-colored Suzuki GS500 bearing Arkansas license plate 274HY traveling in front of me. A registration check showed an unconfirmed insurance status, and I initiated a traffic stop using emergency lights and siren. Instead of stopping, the motorcycle fled eastbound on South D Street at a high rate of speed, disregarding multiple stop signs before entering Rogers Avenue. The rider continued fleeing through heavy traffic conditions, running multiple red lights and repeatedly entering oncoming traffic lanes. Speeds during the pursuit reached approximately 100 MPH. As the pursuit continued eastbound past Massard Road, I attempted to slow the motorcycle by positioning my patrol unit alongside it and forcing it toward the shoulder. Barling Police Department Officer J. Cummings joined as the secondary unit. The motorcycle then traveled onto the north shoulder of Rogers Avenue and entered the parking lot located at 8387 Rogers Avenue. The rider struck a curb and began losing control. Officer Cummings and I attempted to box in the motorcycle before it collided with the driver-side door of Officer Cummings’s patrol vehicle. The rider fell from the motorcycle and briefly attempted to flee on foot before surrendering. The operator initially refused to identify himself, responding “your mama” when asked for his name. He was later identified as Sean Beagles. Further investigation revealed Beagles was driving on a suspended license and also had an active Fort Smith City warrant for his arrest. While secured in the rear of my patrol unit, Beagles stated, “After you take these handcuffs off, I’m gonna knock your bitch ass out.” Fort Smith Police Officer Tabor later advised that the same motorcycle had fled from him earlier in the evening near South T Street and Jenny Lind Road prior to my attempted traffic stop. Officer Cummings’s 2025 Dodge Durango patrol vehicle sustained minor damage during the collision. Mr. Beagles was transported to Baptist Hospital for medical clearance before being booked into the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center.
