On May 9th, 2022, Officer Stallings from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission was notified by dispatch about an individual engaged in spearfishing near the easy jetty in Destin, Florida. Upon reaching the location, Officer Stallings used binoculars to observe the man emerging from the water with a spear in hand, carrying what seemed to be a fish in a bucket. Upon noticing the patrol truck, the man changed his direction and concealed himself behind a cluster of large rocks. The individual received citations for not displaying a Dive Flag and fishing without a license. However, Officer Stallings proved relentless. Even after letting Austin go, he persisted in searching for the grouper, ultimately uncovering it hidden under some rocks. But the story doesn't end there. Officer Stallings obtained a search warrant for the GoPro SD Card seized during his investigation. Upon reviewing the footage, he observed the man spearing the exact same grouper found on the jetty.
