Officers respond to a crash and find a driver passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle that’s still running—and initially not even in park. As they wake her and secure the car, they notice signs that raise immediate concern, including an open alcohol container in the vehicle and a chaotic scene at the impact point. The driver insists she was only “helping somebody” and didn’t mean to drive impaired. But as Miranda and DUI testing procedures are explained, confusion turns into refusal… then desperate pleading. With a crash already on the record, officers have to decide based on the evidence in front of them—and the night ends in an arrest.
