The incident occurred around 9:10am on Aug 7, 2021. There were no injuries and it was NOT a crash - the semi merely slid and while trying to correct its position, it punctured the fuel tank, resulting in a small leak. Per Minneapolis Fire Department: "Fire crews responded to a semi-truck caring basic cargo that jack knifing in the Lowry Tunnel, 94 east bound. Upon arrival it was found that the semi’s fuel tank received a small punctured by the trailer while trying to correct from the jack knife. Fire crews and fire hazmat crew was able to patch the punctured fuel tank to stop the diesel fuel leak. Sand and absorbent has been place by fire crews to mitigate the diesel fuel spill.
