On January 14, 2023, Bowling Green Police Officer St. John observed a vehicle fail to come to a complete stop behind the stop line on the ground. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 22-year-old woman. When the woman admitted to consuming vodka and Sprite, she was asked to step out of her vehicle. After performing standardized field sobriety tests, she was placed under arrest. She was transported to the Bowling Green police station, where she provided breath samples measuring 0.19% BAC. She was charged with (1) Operating a Vehicle Impaired; (2) Having a Prohibited Breath Alcohol Concentration; (3) Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign. On March 3, 2023, she pleaded guilty to an amended charge of Reckless Operation of a Vehicle. She also pleaded guilty to the Stop Sign violation. The other charge was dismissed. She was fined a total of $415 and she was placed on probation for 2 years. Her license was suspended for 1 year and she was ordered to complete a 3-day Driver's Intervention Program.
