On September 10th, 2025, deputies responded to a Target store in Palm Coast, Florida, in reference to a shoplifting incident. Store security reported that a woman entered the store with an empty shopping cart, later filling it with a white comforter and a Sharper Image portable sauna before stopping at Starbucks. When the line took too long, she left, paid only for a case of water, and exited the store without paying for the other items. Two deputies who were already on scene for an unrelated matter escorted her into the Loss Prevention Office, where she was identified as Jennifer after giving false names and birth years. The stolen merchandise, valued at approximately $270, was recovered by the store. She was charged with Petit Theft – 2 or More Prior Convictions, a felony under Florida Statute 812.014(3)(c). After posting a $2,500 bond, the case was transferred from felony court to county court and later reduced to a misdemeanor.
