An Akron Police officer responded to a reported fight at a specific address. En route, the officer observed a male matching the suspect's description at the intersection of S Main St and E Market St. The suspect, a white male, was wearing a reddish women's dress and white pants. The officer issued verbal commands for the suspect to stop to investigate the incident. The suspect, later identified as Michael Juersivich, ignored the officer's commands and continued walking eastbound on E Market St while the officer was still in the marked patrol vehicle. The officer turned the vehicle around, and Michael began to flee on foot across E Market St. The officer activated the overhead lights and sirens and commanded Michael to stop. Michael then turned and approached the patrol vehicle, prompting the officer to slam on the brakes. Michael attempted to jump in front of the vehicle, seemingly trying to get struck. The officer exited the patrol vehicle, and Michael fled eastbound on E Market St. A brief foot pursuit ensued, and force was used to place Michael under arrest. The incident stemmed from an argument Michael had with a man named Timothy at the library. Timothy stated that Michael threw orange juice on him and then fled. Timothy did not wish to pursue charges. While being transported to the Summit County Jail by APD, Michael violently kicked the back of Car 24, destroying the rear IVS camera inside the patrol car.
