On April 25th, 2024, a deputy was dispatched to a Publix after a woman's money order totaling $1,100 was stolen. The woman claimed she put the money order down while paying for groceries and forgot about it. When she returned, the envelope containing the money was gone. Upon reviewing the store's cameras with the manager, they saw a homeless woman named Sara had stolen the money order. The deputies are familiar with Sara and knew the general area where she lived.
