On December 31, 2023, Santa Fe County Sheriff's Deputy Olivas observed a vehicle travel over the marked fog lines on the roadway. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and the 29-year-old driver admitted to consuming alcohol. She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests and was eventually arrested for DUI. At the Sheriff's station, she blew a 0.16% BAC, making her DUI aggravated. She was charged with aggravated DUI and driving on marked lanes for traffic. Her charges were dismissed on January 2, 2024, but were refiled on February 16, 2024. Her next court date is scheduled for June 25, 2024. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
