The driver, 55-year-old Victoria Vidal of Akron, was detained without incident — but what happened next left officers stunned. When Officer Branham returned to the car, he spotted a raccoon named “Chewy” sitting in the driver’s seat with a meth pipe in its mouth. Officers quickly secured the scene and began a full vehicle search. During the investigation, police recovered: A bulk amount of methamphetamine Crack cocaine Three used glass meth pipes Vidal was charged with felony drug possession (F3), three counts of possessing drug paraphernalia, and cited for driving under suspension. She was later turned over to Cuyahoga Falls Police for her active warrant. Additional charges for crack cocaine possession will be presented to the Grand Jury pending lab results from the BCI. Fortunately, Chewy the raccoon was unharmed, and authorities have been notified to verify the animal’s ownership paperwork and licensing.
