On October 20, 2024, Winter Park Police Officers responded to a roll-over traffic collision. Two victims indicated that a Corvette and a Honda Civic were racing when the Civic lost control, slammed into the back of a Mercedes, and flipped over. These 2 victims also reported that a 24-year-old woman had displayed a firearm and was acting erratically. Officers detained and handcuffed the woman, which started a 20-minute sequence of her acting belligerent because she "knew her laws" and bragging about just getting out of Federal prison. She was charged with (1) Felony Tampering with Physical Evidence; (2) Felony Threatening Harm on a Public Servant; (3) Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance; and (4) Resisting an Officer without Violence. On May 15, 2025, she pleaded guilty to the first charge. The last 3 charges were dismissed. She was fined $150 plus court fees and costs and was placed on probation for 12 months.
