On May 24, 2023, police officers from the Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) and Rutgers University (Camden) came across a driver who failed to proceed when the traffic light turned green. They quickly realized that the driver was slumped over in the vehicle unconscious. A quick-thinking Sergeant realized it was likely a heroin overdose and administered Narcan. When EMS arrived, it didn't take long for them to bring the man back to a semi-conscious state. He was placed in an awaiting ambulance and transported to the local emergency room.
