On July 17, 2023, an O'Fallon Police officer initiated a traffic stop in O'Fallon, Illinois, after spotting a vehicle with registration that had been expired since 2022. The encounter began with immediate non-compliance as the driver attempted to leave her vehicle and enter a store, requiring the officer to order her back into the car three times. While the driver searched for her ID, the officer observed a sandwich bag of cannabis in her purse, which he seized. The situation escalated after dispatch confirmed the driver had a suspended license. When ordered to exit the vehicle for arrest, the driver refused approximately 12 times, repeatedly asking "why" and refusing to hang up the phone with her mother. Officers eventually had to physically remove her as she locked her arms to resist handcuffing and attempted to kick her car door shut while being escorted away. She was charged with Driving on a Suspended License, Unlawful Use of Cannabis, and Resisting Arrest.
