Description

REAL POLICE BODYCAM footage captures officers methodically dismantling a woman's implausible story about coincidentally finding her car abandoned in La Crosse after a drug trafficking pursuit. This bodycam video documents the strategic questioning that exposes critical inconsistencies in her account.

In this police bodycam footage, an officer confronts a woman found with a vehicle they had just been pursuing: "I get it's your car but obviously we were just chasing this car." She immediately admits ownership while offering an explanation: "And I know that and I just moved it up the middle of the street." This admission, captured on the bodycam, establishes her connection to both the vehicle and the fleeing suspect.

The officer proceeds with identification questions: "All right. Are you valid to drive and everything?" She responds confidently: "Yeah. You could check me. Okay. Run me whatever you want." When asked about the suspect's whereabouts—"You don't know where he went?"—she emphatically denies knowledge: "I swear to god I really don't. I literally pulled up and saw the car... Sorry I'm cold... Saw the car in the middle of the road and saw that there's nobody in it."

She continues her denial: "I didn't see him jump out. The car was literally already there parked." The questioning intensifies as another officer asks: "Do you guys need anything from her? She's the owner of the car. She's saying she just seen the car here so she got out and drove it here but—" This summary, recorded on police bodycam, highlights the implausibility of her story.

An officer interrupts a phone call: "Can you hang the phone up please?" before continuing the questioning: "W- who w- when's the last time you saw him?" She responds: "Earlier today." When asked about her presence at the scene—"So why are you here though?"—she explains: "Because his sister lives over here on the north... I was coming to find him."

An officer directly challenges her involvement: "So you're part of this." She immediately denies: "No." As questioning continues, she makes a revealing statement: "I literally pulled over before you even put your lights on. Did I not?" The officer immediately identifies the logical flaw: "You pulled over because you knew we were just chasing the car." She attempts to normalize her actions: "It's pretty obvious it was in the middle of the road. Yeah."

The officer continues exposing inconsistencies: "And to- Well that's nice of you. And to go and hide the car and do whatever." She offers another explanation: "No actually I was gonna pull it over because I don't need this car. I don't drive this car 'cause I don't have plates on it yet." After confirming she last saw the suspect at her house, the officer highlights the suspicious circumstances: "Can you see where... See where this is odd though? Odd? We're chasing a car and out of the kindness of your heart- You're right, you get in the vehicle and try to drive off."

She finally acknowledges the obvious issue: "You're right. Okay. You're right." The officer concludes with a simple appeal to reason: "Just look at it from my point of view."

According to police reports, this February 3, 2023 incident involved 43-year-old Drae Shaun Broadnax fleeing from police during a high-risk traffic stop. When officers later searched the abandoned vehicle, they discovered 56.4 grams of methamphetamine, 7.5 grams of cocaine, 5.3 grams of marijuana, and seized $1,896 in cash from the woman.

This police bodycam footage highlights sophisticated interrogation techniques where officers methodically expose logical flaws in a witness's account, gradually breaking down implausible explanations through persistent, respectful questioning.
