Description

REAL POLICE BODYCAM footage captures a heated exchange about compliance during a Lincoln, Illinois trespassing arrest. This bodycam video documents the fundamental disagreement between suspect and officer about what constitutes cooperation during a police encounter.

In this police bodycam footage, Dalton J. Ingram attempts to address the arresting officer: "Can I say something, sir? You guys are insane." This confrontational opening, captured on the bodycam, sets the tone for an increasingly tense exchange about basic police commands and compliance expectations.

The officer makes a simple request that becomes the source of conflict: "You want to give us your name?" Ingram immediately claims he has been cooperative: "I was complying with you." The officer directly contradicts this assertion: "No, you're not complying with me." This fundamental disagreement, recorded on police bodycam, highlights how suspects and officers can have vastly different perceptions of the same interaction.

Ingram attempts to provide context: "Actually, before—" but is cut off by the officer: "No, I asked for your name, you didn't give it." This specific example, documented on bodycam, illustrates the officer's definition of non-compliance based on failure to provide basic identification when requested.

The circular argument continues as Ingram insists: "Before that, after that— No. After that, sir, I was complying with you. I've been compliant with you this whole time." The officer maintains his position: "No, you have not been compliant with me at all." When Ingram protests "Yes, I have haven't said anything. You I haven't been arguing with you this whole time, sir," the officer delivers the final assessment: "You have not said anything. I'm done."

This exchange, captured entirely on bodycam, demonstrates how quickly police encounters can deteriorate when there's disagreement about basic compliance expectations, particularly something as fundamental as providing identification when requested.

According to police reports, this February 4, 2025 incident in Lincoln, Illinois resulted in Ingram's arrest on charges of Criminal Trespass to Property and Resisting Arrest, alongside two other individuals involved in the same trespassing incident.

This police bodycam footage highlights the critical importance of basic compliance with police commands and how failure to provide simple information like identification can escalate routine encounters into arrest situations.
