Description

Deputies came to a rural property in Lawrence County, Indiana to serve an arrest warrant, and the man they came for ran into a barn and pulled the door shut behind him. What he told them was inside with him turned a warrant service into a standoff that ran for hours, with a K9 unit, gas and flashbangs, and officers who spent most of that time arguing among themselves about whether the thing in his hand was real at all.

Lawrence County Sheriff's Department. Bedford, Indiana.
Reported charges: Possession of a hoax device, a Level 6 felony; two counts of resisting law enforcement, both Class A misdemeanors.
