Description

REAL POLICE BODYCAM footage captures the chaotic moments of surrender after a high-speed chase with three children in the vehicle. This bodycam video documents a mother's desperate pleas and confused statements following a dangerous pursuit that put young lives at serious risk.

In this police bodycam footage, officers issue urgent commands to Clorisa Franklin after her vehicle has been stopped: "I'm so... listen, listen. Turn the car off." The repetition of "Turn the car off" indicates the critical nature of securing the vehicle, while Franklin's fragmented responses—"I'm so... to"—suggest heightened emotional distress or possible impairment.

Commands continue with "Step out of the car," as Franklin begins pleading: "I'm so... Please lemme my numbers down go to jail. Please." This disjointed statement, captured on the bodycam, reveals both confusion and desperation in the moments after her capture. An officer maintains tactical focus: "Stand by, Kenny."

Franklin continues with disconnected statements: "I gave it to you. I'm so sorry. You guys are—" before shifting to an excuse: "You made a terrible mistake." An officer acknowledges her situation while maintaining control: "I know, but I... jail. Here, turn back around. Turn back around. Stop." This exchange, recorded on police bodycam, shows the challenge of managing a distraught subject while securing the scene.

Franklin finally articulates her motivation for fleeing: "I didn't want my kids... I didn't want to go jail. Sorry I had to go to jail," revealing that her fear of incarceration and separation from her children drove her dangerous decision to initiate a high-speed chase with those same children in the vehicle.

Her distress continues: "Oh my goodness. Can I get the laptop please? Can I get the numbers please?" suggesting concern about personal property or possibly contact information. She repeats: "I gave it to you, baby. Okay, I got it, it... I wanna give you the numbers. Can I get some numbers please right now?" An officer maintains procedural focus: "Just a minute. Get out of the car. Let me come... Move back here."

According to police reports, this January 31, 2024 incident in Fayette County, Texas began when a deputy discovered Franklin had felony warrants from multiple states while conducting a welfare check. The ensuing pursuit reached speeds over 100 mph with Franklin's three children under 10 in the backseat. The chase ended after tire deflation devices were deployed, and Franklin was charged with evading arrest and child endangerment in addition to her existing warrants.

This police bodycam footage highlights the emotional aftermath of high-risk pursuits, revealing how suspects often express contradictory emotions of regret, desperation, and defiance in the moments following capture.
