Title
Local Emergency Accommodation Program (LEAP)
Description
The Local Emergency Accommodation Program (LEAP) is a voluntary Portland Police Bureau program that allows community members to provide important information in advance that may help first responders during an emergency.
People with disabilities, medical conditions, communication differences, sensory sensitivities, or other individual needs may respond to stressful situations in ways that can be misunderstood during an emergency. LEAP gives individuals, family members, caregivers, and other authorized people an opportunity to share information that may help police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and other first responders better understand how to communicate and respond.
