on January 1st 2025 the Key West Police
Department responded to a report of
trespassing at a local bed and breakfast
the subject was a recently terminated
employee who was not supposed to be on
the property upon arrival the officer
noticed a male subject walking westbound
matching the description that dispatch
gave the officers approached him to
engage in conversation but he appeared
to be intoxicated and would repeatedly
interrupt the officer and refuse to let
him speak here's what happened next

reported concerns about the subject's

had gotten a message from one of my
guests that Charles had been here after
I went home like harassing the guests
asking for their alcohol slurring his
words obviously intoxicated M the whole
works um so when I got here I tried to
catch him in the act of it and I saw in
the act of it what do you mean by that
well like being here after hours so
obviously staff's not supposed to be
here at all I he's been sleeping here
apparently which I did not know um and I
came in to find the front door wide open
music blaring on the computer he wasn't
anywhere to be found but I saw alcohol
on the front porch which is also stuff
he stole which is why he was terminated
okay so he was staling he terminated um
however his phone is like not working so
I haven't been able to actually contact
him to bring him in to sign the
paperwork um and he has the key but I
guess that he had been coming in and out
all afternoon um harassing the guests um
and so we came back over and when I went
inside he was there on the computer
obvious slurring his words and back to
you he's not no one's no staff supposed
to be here but especially someone like
what time do y'all shut down 2:00 2:00
okay yeah what's a good phone number for

up yeah okay all right bye one of the
things that had me worried was he had
been stealing stuff and I noticed my big
kitchen knife was missing and and you

quick so he still has a key yes
obviously he was termined today so and
then he's no longer allowed on property
he used the key to go through the front
entrance and he saw alcohol bottles all
on the they're still there and he went
into the office he's blaring
music and now a kitchen knife is missing
well that was um I noticed that um
yesterday when I came into work that it
was missing um and it just worries me
because I know he knows when I'm not
here and I'm worried with how he used to
be sober now obviously he's not and I'm
worried that he was going to either
attack a guest or myself and the guests
are the ones that called you um yeah I
have the message if you would like to
see I don't know if it's relevant yeah
one of my um my cooworker had texted it
to me um this is this was the the
message I'm just do s yeah go for
it all right so she doesn't know who he
is but when I saw the description as
