then the only thing is what we've seen is that um you didn't pay the reinstatement fee which is like the leaves like around yeah I just switch it over there that's not okay so you don't have your insurance with you I mean your uh no insurance no driver's license I don't have one what about your driver's license okay so you just bought the car yeah so you bought the car two months ago stated a girlfriend's plates are what's your girlfriend's name uh Alice okay herb license plates are suspended for no insurance oh she needs to get that take but she don't have the truck anymore so that's the only reason that we stay at the place all right so one that's an improper use of registration so I mean that's already a traffic offense I mean that's because that's the biggest thing that caught my eye is that it comes back to a different car instead of the one that you're driving so that's according to the Illinois vehicle code that's a violation no you can't even drive without a plate uh because you have a certain amount of time to the car registered now I mean I get you saying that they just put a date on it but we have to go based on what's here okay this means that it's been roughly almost two months as you registered the vehicle um so technically it's an unregistered vehicle now you don't have insurance for the car too exactly so because you do have a certain amount of time and I'll confirm that uh how long you have from when you purchase a vehicle to go ahead and get it registered I'll have to confirm right now um I can't even tell you right off top of my head right now but um when is it that you purchased it yeah okay while you're looking for that you have an idea when you purchase it um probably like two weeks ago two weeks ago okay all right so I'm gonna while you look for that uh just stay here with my part number everybody verify the pin okay okay June 30th okay so it's been a couple weeks so let me verify that real quick so so odds are what's probably going to happen um due to the fact how the plates are uh to being also an unregistered vehicle it's probably gonna happen on being straight to be honest with you right now I'm surrounded that the car is probably going to get towed you're gonna get some tickets mandatory court date um I'll give you that information but let me just confirm first how long you have I have to talk to my supervisor but that's again letting you know now that's probably what's going to happen as far as exactly no not with with these plates down the street um this is at this point you're on the roadway with driving a vehicle one with suspended plates that don't match so that's you know again that's two technical at this point two technically two violations and then the no insurance with that adds the having to tow the car so let me first let me just verify everything talk to my supervisor um but at least I want to give you a heads up but you know that's probably what's going to happen so at least if you need to find a ride or I need to give you a ride somewhere the closest I can get you is um to the Blue Moon restaurant right there on 41 and 137 so right there North Chicago borderline type thing um if I knew if you can't get a ride but just sit uh you can get back in your car sir I just wanted to verify with me we'll go from there okay so you don't have anything with your name on it anything that I can take a look at a picture of an ID or anything debit card nothing okay uh who's Michael Colburn uh that's the person I bought okay so that's the sign okay and yeah okay so you start to fill out your portion um So based on what I read you have to register the car technically as soon as possible within 24 hours of taking ownership so there's really no like five days 10 days 30 days so right now technically the car is unregistered as you're using other cars license plates which is also a violation and then no insurance one I'm so trying to verify who you are if you have a ballot driver's license you can let me know now if there's any issues with your driver's license so we can get ahead on that but um because you have such a common name it's a little bit it takes some time to look up because it's last name Brown person Christopher that's why I was asking if he had anything with your uh with your identification or anything on it so I'm going to give this back to you it's still going to be a little bit um but yeah so once I care back as far as if you have a valid driver's license like I said what's going to end up happening um is that the car is going to be towed I'll give you the information where it's going to be towed you're going to be given a mandatory court date you're going to be released on a signature or a recognizant bond or I Bond where we call that technically it is an arrestable offense but I I I'm okay with that just letting you go on your signature you just have to show up to court get the car registered you're gonna have to explain the same thing to a judge as far as like look I was using other person's plates so because of how the statute is or how the law is that if the says the license plates are suspended for no insurance and you have no insurance we have to totally come so and well then at that point it adds on the no insurance and no registration so it's it's the same thing um when you have the both factors with no insurance and something with an issue with the registrations because technically you're not even you shouldn't even be driving the car at all because it's not registered at this point you know it should be parked and I get it you probably have you got it you have to go to get back report to work uh probably haven't had time to go and get you know to DMV and get all that situated um but it's still our responsibility to kind of get that taken care of as soon as possible so just hang in your car let me get all that information uh situated and then I'll I'll confirm with you what's exactly what's
