And then there's a couple more that we could do, but that's just going to depend on what happens with the other stuff. Okay. Um, >> how much did you have to drink today? What >> kind of drinks were? >> Deputy Blackwood started with the horizontal gaze nestagmas HGN test. During the HGN test, Deputy Blackwood observed the lack of smooth pursuit, distinct and sustained nestagmas at maximum deviation and the onset of nestagmas prior to 45°. The second exercise was the walk and turn test. During the walk and turn test, Lacy did not touch heel to toe on each step and took 27 steps before turning. The final exercise was the one leg stand test. During the one leg stand test, Lacy failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and the test was terminated early due to safety concerns. >> I understand. You got to have what tastes the best. All right. So, what I'm going to do is I'm going to have you come up here on this uh this concrete. You're going to put your feet together, hands down at your side. Follow the tip of the pin with your eyes and your eyes only. Don't move your head. Okay. Keep your head still. It's hard to do. I understand it's hard to do, but hold your head still. Okay. Yes, sir. All right, it's going to slow down. Yes, sir. Try not to move your head. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. It's going to go up. >> Mhm. [Music] Okay. Golly, my lights are bright. >> All right. Let's put this here. >> I do need to change my lights, so that's good. You're I'm not worried about that. Well, I'm not going to mess with you on that kind of stuff. Okay. Um, come walk back more towards my car. You don't have to look. Just you don't have to stare at my car. So, what we're going to do is you see this line right here? >> I do see the line. >> Okay. Come stand on this side of it because I don't want you to step on these and trip. There you go. All right. So, what you're going to do is you're going to stand. You're going to put your right foot on the line, left foot in front of it, heel to toe, and you're going to put your hands down at your side, and you're going to stand there until I tell you to begin. Do you understand? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. When I tell you to begin, you're going to take nine heel totoe steps. >> Okay? >> Counting out loud, looking down at your feet. Yes, sir. >> Once you get to that ninth step, you're going to take a series of small steps to make a turn and come back. Nine heel totoe steps counting out loud, looking at your feet. Yes, sir. >> So, I'm going to just show you what it looks like. I'm not going to do the whole thing for officer safety, but you're going to have right foot on line, left foot in front of it when you begin. One, two, three. You're going to take off my shoes. >> Yeah. Yeah, you can take off your shoes. Go ahead. >> Thank you. >> Left foot on the line, right foot in front of it. It'll be one, two, three, and then you'll take a series of small steps. One, two, three, four, and so on up to nine. Okay, >> ready? >> You can begin when you're ready. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. I If you want to stop taking steps that way, you can. You You've taken way more than what was required. Okay. Um, all right. Come come back here where your shoes are at. Go right back there at So you you don't have to put shoes back on yet. U just come up to the lines cuz it's more flat up here. So stand with your feet together, hands down at your side. Okay. When I tell you to, you can raise one foot, either foot, whichever one works best for you. Raise it approximately 6 in off the ground. It's going to be about a Coke can. Okay. You're going to point your toes straight out, keeping your foot parallel to the ground. You're going to look down at your toes and you're going to count out loud. 1 1 2 1 100 3 100 and so on until I tell you to >> Can I start again? >> Yeah. I I hadn't even told you to start yet. >> I was I was telling you the the instruction. Um but yeah, pick your foot up off the ground approximately 6 in. Point your toe out. Count out loud. 1 1,00 2 100 3 100 and so on while you're looking at your toe. I'll tell you when you can stop. Okay? Give me just a second and I will tell you when to begin. >> I'm going to stand behind you so you don't fall. Okay? So I may catch you. >> That's okay. That's okay. I understand. That's okay. >> All right. You can begin. [Music] Yeah. I just don't want you to follow the traffic. That's all. Oh, there you go. Okay. >> You're good. You're good. You okay? >> Yeah. >> All right. There you go. >> No matter what it is, I want to >> So, so you you are way past the level of intoxication to be driving a vehicle, right? >> You know that, right? >> I know. I just need to make it. Based on her erratic driving, her indicators of impairment, and her inability to adequately perform the field sobriety exercises, Deputy Blackwood told Lacy that she was being placed under arrest for DUI. Lacy told him that her mother worked as a correctional officer at the Holmes County Jail and that she was a lieutenant. >> I understand. So >> um so yeah, we just need somebody to come get her. Um we can get you I would say we can get you over here to the gas station or up to uh the Waffle House, but you don't have a shirt. >> Yeah. No, I don't want to drive over. Well, you you can't drive. You're not you you can't drive. >> I think I have a drive. Can I mean I think I have a shirt. If you could hold my phone. >> If you Okay. We're still we're still on the side of the road. But yeah, she's uh she's not she's not going to be going anywhere. Um like I said, if if you got somebody that's like in Crest View, somewhere like that, you know, somewhere kind of sort of close, it be good for her. But um we can if she can find herself a shirt, we can probably get her up here to uh um Waffle House and let her hang out there. >> Okay, that's fine. Uh I'll see what I can uh make happen, man. I'll make a few phone calls and see what I can do. >> Okay. All right, sounds good. Appreciate it, man. >> Yes, sir. Bye. I think I threw >> up on my pink shirt. >> You did. >> I'm sorry. >> That's okay. It's your clothes and ain't mine. As long as you ain't throwing up on me, I don't care. >> I could have threw up on you. That would have been worse. >> No. Yeah, that I wouldn't have been I wouldn't have enjoyed that. >> About my friend. >> Do what? >> Can you tell me that I need to jump on my friend? >> Yeah. So, she's going to be going just right It's right up here up the road at Santa Rosa County Jail. Yeah. Um she'll be able to bond out here in just a little while. Um um she Do you Do you know her mom's phone number? >> No. >> No. Okay. Well, she's going to end up calling >> her mom, but I can get her out her office. >> She Well, she she's going to call her mom when we get up here to the jail cuz her mom works for the sheriff's office over there in Holmes County. So, but yeah. So, we're we're going to get everything taken care of. And um yeah. Is those the keys to the Ford? Is that your vehicle? my fort. >> Yes, cuz that your keys are in Those aren't your keys. >> They're in my fort. >> Okay. >> And I was going to say make sure that those keys in the center console are not yours. >> No, I left my long >> Okay. All righty. Hey, her um her husband's getting somebody come get her. So, I told her probably best thing is just to go sit over there and play a >> letter on that one. I'd have to take her up to like the exit or something. >> Okay. >> Yeah, they have a policy at this one here. They don't allow people. >> Yeah, she'll be able to just take the blanket and cover up with it. >> Leave that. That's how that's her driver keys. Let me move. Yeah. And you said the these aren't your keys. >> Oh, those are mine. >> Okay. Make sure you keep your keys. >> That's why I'm not driving. >> I make sure you put them in your purse so you don't leave them because you'll leave them. And cuz this is this is getting towed. >> Oh no. >> Yes. So that's why I'm saying make sure. >> Oh no. >> Yeah. So, um, what the the other deputy that's with me, he's going to carry you right up here to there's a gas station up here. It's an Exxon next to a a Waffle House. That's where he's going to carry you to. Okay. All right. Well, I'm getting overtime today a >> little bit >> cuz uh it is now 20 minutes after I'm supposed to been off work. All right. Um I appreciate it. I wasn't planning on catching DUI right this year. The only thing I don't have for the agency copy is the guy's name. I can still print for you if you want. >> No, that's fine. >> That way you just go ahead and have it copy. coffee. >> So, have you had a good night? >> Not in a very good head space. I put my cab down yesterday, so parking lots. >> Sorry to hear that. news and our copy. All right, there's all that new particles in the paper. >> Yeah. Yeah, she's she's got her phone. Uh, I don't know how good of a charge it is, but yeah. All right. Well, I'm going to go sit back here with her and then uh soon as the tow truck gets here, I'll get them this and I'm going to get her to the jail. Yeah. All right. So, her husband has somebody on the way to come get her. Okay. Um, I've got your keys. I've got your phone. >> That's your phone. >> I can't let you hit it in this car. >> All right. I know. I know you want to. And I I wouldn't mind if it wasn't for the fact we're in a patrol car. They don't uh hold Hold on. So you're 21 almost 22. Well 22 in July. >> Okay. So here's what's going on. Okay. I I got you. Um, so, so what we're going to do is you're going to be charged with DUI. Okay. Um, you're also going to be, um, you're just going to get a failure to maintain lane ticket. Okay? I'm not going to charge you with the open container. I'm not going to charge you with any other alcohol offenses. Okay? And I'm just going to do the ticket and the DUI and that's it. Um, so what what's going to happen from here is when we leave from here, hold on one second. I'll I'll let you ask questions. Okay. What's going to happen is we're going to leave from here. Let me turn. >> Yeah. Yeah. You're you're going to be one of the Hold on. Let me turn that red light on for you light on. Can we turn it on? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So, so what's what's going to happen is when we leave from here, we're going to go up here and we're we're only like 5 minutes from >> to county. >> Well, we can't go to Homes County. >> I I know. Um we're going to >> go to furnace. >> We're We're going to go >> to Washington. >> I know it's Santa Rosa. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Yeah. You're in Santa Rosa. So, >> so well that's what we're going to talk about real quick. So, so what what's going to happen is we're going to go up here. I'm going to ask you some more questions. I'm going to ask you if you want to give breath. Okay? Where we'll take care of that in in a little bit. So, we're going to go up here. We're going to do that. >> And then from there, um you can you'll be able to make bond and you'll be able to leave. Okay? You're not going to be staying at the jail for forever, nothing like that. Um, >> no, it's not going to be unless you can't find somebody to come bond you out. It's not going to >> I'm sure your mom is going to be on her way to come bond you out. >> My babies with my daddy doesn't have her all the time and I just need her to be early more than I do. >> I understand her to go home. >> You're you're going to be able to call your mom and stuff and get get that all going. Okay. >> I need her to go to my mom. >> I know. >> I know. Um and I know I know you're I know you're upset. I know you're freaking out and everything. >> I understand. >> That's the thing. I do understand. I just want all of which is with Colton, my baby's father. I want her to go home in the morning before I do it tomorrow. >> Okay. >> If that's what it takes. >> Yeah. Yeah. So, you you'll be able to call your mom as soon as we're done. Okay. And then >> okay, I just need Olive to go to my mom in the morning. Is not going to be able to reach me. I need her I need Olive to go to my mom in the morning because he's not going to be able to call me. I need to go to my mom. >> Yes, ma'am. And like I said, you you'll be you'll be able to call your mom. >> Oh, honey. I need her to go to my mom. There's hers. >> Oh, okay. >> Yeah, it was found. >> Okay. >> I don't know how y'all do, but we always turn them in with the money. >> Yeah. You had $5. I'm going to put it right here with your phone. Okay. But uh >> no, you're I I understand you're it's it is completely understandable to be >> no more. No one is no better than I am. >> Well, and I don't say that you're not good or anything cuz people make mistakes. You made a mistake tonight. That's it. I don't hold any ill grudge against you. You luckily you were the only car on the road other than me. So that's >> I'm just saying I don't Lacy is okay. I just need my baby to be okay in the morning. I want her to go to my mom. >> I I understand and we'll we'll help you make that happen. Okay. >> Okay. Um >> so we're we're just waiting on >> I can't hit a roof at all. >> No, not right now. Um, so what we are in right now, it's called an observation period. I just have to, you know, I have to make sure that you don't ingest anything, that kind of thing. So that's why we're we're sitting here and stuff. [Applause] All right. So, we're currently trying to figure out where her stuff is cuz her wallet and her keys are missing. So, she doesn't think >> she She's got her keys. I just handed her her keys. >> She doesn't know where her wallet is, though. >> Yeah. She doesn't know where her wallet is. >> Yeah. And homeboy up there in the woods doesn't have his wallet for obvious reasons. He's in the woods. >> Yep. >> Have to figure out what the hell to do with this girl. Um I they're not going to let her into Waffle House cuz she doesn't have a shirt. >> Yeah. I'm not one of those sympathetic cops that like pays for hotels either. >> Yeah. Yeah. No. No. I I'm not a >> I'm not a previous sergeant that I worked for. >> Hey, she's coming back here to look for. >> Can you find it? I think Taylor lost her uh wallet. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. She she said that she she fell asleep hard. Do what? >> Hey, check your bag. >> Hey, she she said that her wallet was in her bra. >> Yeah, check your bra. not looking. >> There's It's not there now. Okay. >> Well, it's not there now. So, [Music] >> yeah, it and it might just be in the truck somewhere. >> I know it is because I did see it. Yeah. >> So, where did you go to school? >> Homes County. Okay. >> Did you live in Holmes County for forever? [Music] Isn't there like a like a cave or springs or something up in Pon? >> Um, there's a blue hole. >> Blue hole. Okay, that might be what I was reading about. So, I keep trying to find places to go and explore. I like to explore things. I don't really know what to call the other. It's the blue hole. It's near Sorda, which is landing. >> Okay. >> It's near Westville that area. >> Yeah. Is it like a swimming hole kind of thing? >> Yeah. Sarah Gord is. I mean, you put it in there and then by ramp it's just a small swimming hole that springs. >> Okay. Yeah, I'm wanting to find some places that I can go and explore cuz uh I like to find stuff. >> That is the good thing about Florida cuz you have spring and beach. >> Yeah. >> Woods. >> Yeah. No, you're fine. You do what you need to do. I said I'm not I hold zero ill will. All right, we found some cards. Um, so I'm about to get her going to the drive water. >> Okay, awesome. Uh, I was getting off at 5. >> Oh, you're same as me, too. >> No, you're fine. So, >> I'm technically seven, but I was going home early today. Like I said, I don't really want to be here today. So, >> yeah. >> But yeah, I'm going to get her going. Um, I'll get her to black water in and drop her off. >> Okay. >> And then, uh, your toe formers are good. Yep. >> You don't need a supplement for me, do you? >> No. No. I appreciate it. Thanks, man. >> No problem. She's just making sure she has her stuff and we're going >> Okay. Appreciate it. process. >> Yeah. So, the way our processing works, >> all the inmates >> No. No. So, we have we have a processing area that's usually only got like five or six people in it. Um, >> naked. >> No. No. you won't be stripped naked at all. The only time you get strip naked is if you're going in for drugs and you're not. Um, so, uh, they'll they're just going to get you in there and ask you a bunch of questions and that's pretty much it. >> Yep. You'll be able to call your mom. >> It's okay. to make sure tomorrow. >> I understand. Here's the 228 tow truck something. All right. Give me just a second, Lacy, and we'll get out of here. Okay. They're semiable. Come on. You got goojo with you. Make sure I got All right, that's your copy. And then if I just get your John Hancock right off the chair. There you go. not used to getting fish. This here actually need this. Heat. Heat. Have you ever been in any kind of trouble? No. Okay. I just want to make sure that there wasn't anything else that was going to pop up when we got up here that make it harder for you to get bonded out. As long as you've never been in trouble, you're good. >> How long you been vaping? Seems like a lot of people vape now. And it's all over. >> It's crazy. >> Yeah. Do you know what time it is right now? >> About 5:45. >> You're on the money. >> I am on every single top. >> Good job. I got a good >> I woke her up and she was she was like, "Yeah, it's like 11:00." I was like, "Nope." >> Yeah, cuz the sun's starting to come up. I know it sucks right now, but >> I don't know. >> Yeah. >> This is something that you can get past. It's going to take a little bit, but you'll be able to get past it. And like I said, we're we're going to let you call your mom and everything and get everything taken care of with your daughter. Okay. >> Yeah, there's a seat belt. Did Did you not get buckled up here? Hold on. on both way up. Yeah. So, the seat belt's right. I'm >> going to reach it. You're good. >> Usually, so usually I have it right here. Lacy was transported to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office for further processing. At the jail, she agreed to submit breath samples. My elbow that should just say my my knee as long my legs I like as long as my legs don't feel I'm good then my legs will feel it and my my son was like hey dad let's go and float out on and so I was like okay yeah I'll go float and I fell asleep cuz I work midnights >> yeah of worse. No, that's one thing. I don't need sunscreen now because it does not that's what that's what that is right >> right there. That is sun cancer. >> Well, I hope you uh I hope you don't have too much ridiculous sun cancer or anything. >> No, it's just my mom and my grandkids. Yeah, that's true. >> I mean, if you're I like the sun. I >> put sunscreen on my face just because my face I will get sun poisoning on my face and my nose. So, I put it on my face. >> Yeah, my nose got burnt, too. My nose is >> I will get blistered up and it hurts really bad. So, I cover up the rest of my body with my face. It's just whatever. But the rest of my body, it does get burnt and it peels. But usually after it goes the first time, I'll be good for tan. Like a little bit Indian. >> Yeah. >> But if I'll get one put sunscreen on my nose and then I had a trail of it going in my nose cuz I couldn't put it under. I just put it on it. Sunscreen. I mean, not sunscreen. Sun. Hold on one second. I got to talk on my radio and I got to be on from that finger. That'll be stupid. 228. Could you advise my 1015 time? 104. All right. Are these going to your foot? >> Yeah, >> they they are the worst shoes. >> They smell >> Yeah, they smell like fake plastic. >> So, I um I was arrested when I first started the police academy. Um and I had to go to I had to go to jail and it was a nightmare. >> Yeah. >> You're not going to have it nearly as bad as it could be because you're coming in at a good time. Um it's not a busy time. So you're coming in at a good time and you're not going to have to deal with an issues. accept. So if I call her right now, see my account, is that okay if I call my mom? >> So So what what you'll be able to call your mom here in just a little bit and then you'll be able to bond out of here. You're not going to have to stay. You're not going to you don't have to serve time, anything like that. This is literally just holding and processing. That's all it is. Okay. Um they'll let you call her multiple times. So until until they get super busy, they'll let you come out and make phone calls like crazy. Uh it's not that it's not like >> beat up in jail. >> You ain't going to be not here. We It doesn't happen very often. >> Get beat up in jail. Just because like I do have something to go home to. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Well, you got your little daughter. I understand. >> I've got to I've got to ask you some questions real fast. Okay. So, what what I'm going to read to you is this is breast testing. Okay. I'm just going to read you one small portion and um you'll be able to make your determination and then we'll go from there. Okay. I am now requesting that you submit to a lawful test of your breath for the purpose of determining its alcohol content. Will you be willing to take the test? >> What kind of trouble in it? >> It's it's just evidentiary. That's it. It doesn't determine trouble or not trouble. It's evidentary. >> I don't want anything between me and my baby girl. >> No. No. That a DUI is not going to cause anything between you and your baby girl. But that I can't entice you to take a breath test and I can't tell you not to take a breath test. Okay? All I can do is ask you if you would be willing to. If you don't want to, that's fine. If you do, that's fine, too. Ah, so like I said, a DUI is not going to affect you and your affect you and being a mom to your kid. Okay. Um, the the only issue that you would have DUI wise is just your driver's license. That's it. So, so Okay. Right. So, Okay. So, since you don't really know what's going on, I'll explain it to you. If you don't take the test, your driver's license will be suspended for you. >> My driver. So, >> but the thing is, I have a kid and I don't like I need everything. >> I I I got you. So, so if you if you refuse to take the test, your driver's license will be suspended. If you do take the test, then your driver's license won't be suspended for that. >> I just want to make sure like my kids she doesn't have >> No, I I got you. Don't worry. Don't worry about that. This is not going to affect your kid. I promise. Okay. I understand. I understand. >> I completely understand. Okay. So, um I'm going to ask you one more time just because I have to have you say a say a yes or no. So, I am I am requesting that you submit to a lawful test of your breath for the purpose of determining the alcohol content. Will you be willing to take this? Okay. So, what you're going to do is you're going to blow into this. And you're just going to keep blowing until I tell you to stop. Just take a normal breath. And I'm going to hand this to you first. Take a normal breath. Once you take a normal breath, you can start blowing. Okay. Okay. Blow. Blow a little bit harder. You're still not blowing hard enough to even get it. There it goes. Keep going up. Blow. Take a breath. Blow harder. >> Take a breath and blow harder. Okay. Blow, blow, blow, blow, blow, blow, blow, blow, blow, blow, blow. Good. Can you stop? >> It's hard. >> You're good. All right. So, that's the first one. And then it's going to do one more and then we're done. Okay. And then you'll be able to go pee because they need Do you still have that little peacup that they gave you? Okay. Cuz they need that cuz they got to make sure that you're not pregnant. That's good. >> You're done. One and done. Don't worry. I was one and done, too. >> One and done now. >> I'm one and done. >> I am. Yes, I am. No, I'm wearing Jordans. They're Jordan on. >> Have you Have you seen Have you seen this? Actual Jordan boots? >> No, dude. So, yeah, I wear Jordans at work. Yeah. >> Yeah. Cuz I'm getting No, I it was So, the reason why I started wearing Jordans is because I pay 130 bucks for I pay 130 bucks for the Rocky boots that I was wearing. 130 bucks a spot. These these are $104 for some Jordans. And I was like, shoot, I need to start wearing Jord. And then I went I had to run after somebody. And it turns out that running in these are so much better. >> I can jump fences in these. This white boy can jump in Georgia. So number one, it's 6:00 in the morning. It's so night's over with. Uh but they'll they'll set you in holding and you're just going to be hanging out with if they even got it. I don't know if they have any other women in here right now. >> Yeah. So So there might be one other girl. >> Crazy, right? >> No. What' you bring yours in for? Is she crazy? >> I don't want to be crazy. You You're not going to You're not going to >> You're not going to catch crazy in here or something. >> No. This ain't like TV. It's not like jail on TV. >> Her mom her mom's a lieutenant. Holmes County Jail. >> Home. >> No. So So you're just you're just in holding. You're not actually going to go back into the jail. >> Yeah. No. No. So, so this is all holding here. This is it's called ACR. So, if you went through that back door back there, then that goes into the actual gel. >> Actual gel. Actual gel. >> Yep. All right. Here's this again. Like I said, take a take a breath and blow hard. >> Yeah, that's Keep blowing. Keep blowing. Keep blowing. Keep blowing. Keep blowing. Keep blowing. Keep blowing. Keep blowing. Keep blowing. Keep blowing. And you're good. You can stop. All right. Here you go. I'll take that back from you. Once it finishes this thing, I'm going to ask you a couple questions and then you'll get to go pee cuz I know you want to be [Music] I was heading home. I get off at 5 in the morning. Tell me about I was I was waiting to go home and that was okay. And he is going to come and wake me up. That's my son. My son. And he is going to come and wake me up as soon as I get home and I fall asleep. He's going to be like, "Dad, dad, cuz he got battleship yesterday and he wants to play battleship constantly." Okay. But I love that boy. So, I'll do whatever. I'll go without sleep and play battleship. All right. So, we'll go ahead and just knock out these these questions real quick. So, I've got to read you your Miranda warnings. Have you ever You've heard the Miranda warnings. You've watched cops before, right? Yeah. So, it's >> 21 John Street. You have the right to Never mind. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him or her present with you while you are being questioned. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before any questioning if you wish. You can decide at any time to exercise these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements. Okay? Do you understand these rights that I've explained to you? >> Okay. And with these rights in mind, are you willing to answer some questions? I do. >> Okay. All right. Let me write this down real quick. Yeah, you can have your phone now. Yeah.
