Well, you do know cuz I'm You've been there for a while and you smell. We're looking for mom. Have you seen her? She's not around right now. You understand how how this looks, right? Yes, sir. Justin's aunt has not heard from her sister, Linda, in over a week. She calls the sheriff's office to check on her well-being. When deputies arrive, there is an odor of decomposition from outside the home. It takes Linda's son over 30 minutes to answer the door. Deputies eventually locate Linda and arrest her son for providing a false statement. Justin is thoroughly processed by a forensics team, but is ruled out as a murder suspect. The medical examiner determined Linda died of natural causes. Justin was criminally charged with failing to report the death of his mother. He pled guilty and received 60 days in jail. Dad didn't come back and retaliate for getting arrested or something like that. So if you're not going to tell me yesterday, then we're just going to peek your head in there real quick and then we'll come back outside. You can lead the way if you're so please. I'm going to lock the door behind you. You could go in, but you could go in. Just lead us through. I don't lock. Do you have a key? No. Why would you lock the door behind you? I just usually do that. So, how do you get in? I don't know. How about this other little door that's over here? It's uh it's just barricaded el with what? Uh garbage cans and stuff. So, how do you get in the house? I had to lock the door cuz I feel like you're with me. What the hell? What's the deal? Your side. You understand how how this looks, right? Yes, sir. So, why So, how do you get in the house? Your Miranda rightites. Great. Do you swear to affirm that the statement you're about to give is the whole truth, but nothing but the truth? All right. So, go ahead and tell me what's what's going on. What happened? I don't know. Okay. Well, you do know cuz I'm You've been there for a while and you smell. I am sorry. So, it's smelling. When we first got here and talked to, you said you hadn't seen mom in how long? Few days. A few days. When is is that the act your actual answer or what's what is the answer you want to swear to the last time you saw mom? We're talking around the house here. I mean, yeah. When's the last time you seen dad? This last week, I believe. Okay. Did what did how did your conversation with dad go the last time you saw him? Wasn't bad. Bad. It wasn't bad. What did dad? How about between mom and dad? Did they talk? Um the only thing I knew is she told at that point in time when she got home, she told me and I'm both to leave. So I left him walking somewhere and stayed away. Okay. Do you know where dad is at currently? No sir. You know if dad has a job? No sir. And you haven't talked to dad since that night? I said that night. Okay. Well, I guess he got arrested. That's what I heard. And you lots of you didn't get arrested. Okay. And then you're and mom's relationship has been good as of as of late. Yeah. Did you notice anything different while you've been staying here? Did that not raise any alarm to you? Have not heard from her in a couple months? I don't. Did you go and check? I did kind of look in there and see. I guess what she really mean. So, you saw her in the position that she's currently in now? Yes, sir. So, why did you tell us that mom wasn't there? Maybe. Yeah. You know better than me. I wasn't the one that did it. So, Yes, sir. Cuz I smelt her before you ever even came outside. And you were telling me mom's not in there. And you know damn well that she was in there. Yes, sir. And you're lying to me. So why wouldn't you just tell us the truth? We told you from the beginning we weren't there for you. We just wanted to make sure mom and mom was good. That's all. So what prompted you to lie to us? Say and you um when you went in there and checked on her two days ago, did you know that she was deceased? I could say so. I wouldn't say no. Okay. But was it apparently obvious to you that somebody smelling like that wouldn't be somebody who's living? Okay. Yes, sir. So, why didn't you call law enforcement when you found her deceased? You don't know? I don't know. Okay. Any idea why she is deceased? No. What could have happened? No sign. Okay. I really don't. I'm going just have you stand up real quick. Any bombs? Just turn around. Okay. [Applause] Um, couple things are going to happen right now. I just wanted to make you aware because I don't want you to, you know, be shocked or surprise, right? So, right right here, I'll be a search warrant to allow us to collect a couple things. I'm just going to read this through you. Once I get through it, I'm going to explain it all. It might not make sense right away, so just bear with me. Okay. So, a search warrant uh Charlotte County, the honorable Paul Allison Journey, judge of the 20th Judicial Circuit and 14th of Charlotte County, Florida. Lot to go over. So, I understand that's a lot.
