Deputies responding to a welfare check at a mobile-home in Florida found a disturbing scene, according to recently released body-camera footage. Inside the cluttered trailer, they discovered 62-year-old Martha Carver dead in her bedroom, the body already showing signs of decomposition. Her son, 34-year-old Justin Carver, admitted he had not called 911 after she died, telling deputies he “didn’t know what to do” and had been living in the home for over a week with the bedroom door shut. Justin was immediately detained for failure to report a death and possible evidence-tampering. At the sheriff’s office he underwent the standard forensic intake process: high-resolution photographs, fingerprinting, clothing collection, and DNA swabs. While the medical examiner’s preliminary report indicates Martha died of natural causes, the case remains under review for neglect-related charges and financial exploitation of a deceased person—both felonies in many states. Authorities remind the public that anyone who discovers a death is legally required to notify emergency services immediately. 0:00 Intro 1:00 “It smells like one” 2:41 Where’s your mom? 6:47 Access made 8:00 What happened? 12:29 Search Warrant 14:42 CSI photographs
