This critical incident video release is intended to provide you with information, as the department currently understands it, about an officer involved shooting that occurred on February 15th, 2025 at the 100 block of North Josephine Tobin Drive. I will walk you through the video relevant to the facts of the incident as we know them so far. Content of this video may not be suitable for all driving erratically on the walking trail almost striking several pedestrians. A San Antonio Park Police officer responded to the scene and observed a vehicle partially submerged in the water. As the officer approached the vehicle, nearby pedestrians told her that there was one person inside. >> There's a guy. It's him. That's him. Y >> that's him. >> The officer thenly if he was okay and if there was anyone else inside the vehicle. The male replied that he was fine and that it was only him. As the male made his way toward the lake shore, the officer advised the male to be careful and to hold on to the vehicle. Is there is there anyone in the vehicle with you? >> Careful, careful, careful. Just keep just hold on to the car. Keep making your way. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Is there anyone else in the vehicle? >> Once the male was on the grass and near pedestrians, the officer noticed that the male had a knife sticking out of his pocket. The officer commanded the male to get rid of the knife. The male then took out the knife, pointed the knife at the officer, and walked towards her. The officer issued commands at the suspect to drop the knife. >> Careful. All right. Okay. Hold on. Hold on. You have a knife in your pocket, buddy. Put it down. Throw it down. Throw it down. Throw it down. Throw it down. >> Throw it down. The officer got on the radio and broadcasted that she had a male with a knife at gunpoint and that he was walking towards her. The male continued to walk towards the officer as the officer continue to yell commands at the suspect to drop the knife. >> 951 alpha. I got one at gun point. He's got a knife.
