welcome back folks to the DUI Channel we are in Normal Illinois where on January 2nd 2020 at 3 38 PM normal police were dispatched to Commerce Bank for the report of a possibly intoxicated customer who had just left and gotten into their silver Oldsmobile Alero upon arrival the vehicle stated in the call was located sitting in the middle of the road on Broadway the officer approached the vehicle as his investigation begins how you doing you roll down your window for me what what's that window messed up your windows messed up okay is everything okay okay you're kind of blocking the road here I medical treatment from normal fire department the officers on scene requested that the suspect participate in standardized field sobriety tests to which he complied you want to step on out man we're back in that position either foot you would like raise it up 1001 1002 1003 1004 1005 1006 1007 1008 1009 1010 and so on until I tell you to stop it's going to be 30 seconds pretty much okay are you further processing once completed the suspect was then transported to Carl Broman Medical Center where he willingly provided a voluntary blood sample the sample yielded a result of 3.6 nanograms per milliliter of THC this is less than the legal limit of five nanograms per milliliter of THC to drive in the state of Illinois while the suspect stated numerous times during the investigation that he had taken methadone the drug was not detected in the blood sample Derek was charged with driving under the influence of an intoxicating compound or DUI and unsafe backing on a roadway after over one year of litigation on February 9 2021 Derek pled guilty to the traffic violation while the DUI charge was dismissed He was ordered to pay 307 as of April 1st 2023 the entire amount is outstanding he was sentenced to paying fines costs and fees only
