she was stationary the other vehicle turned to come I guess West on 44 coming south on 19. and appeared as if she just didn't make the turn sharp enough so pretty much this car was going eastbound making the left correct I mean that makes perfect sense of what you got here so yeah um and it's not drivable either because yeah I already ran her she has her insurance partner phone of no uh registration that's going to walk away here away from the road yeah that's what we're out of the road right now my registration and insurance card for you okay I'll make sure you get it before you leave I saw when she went to make the turn I I knew she was way over in that tourney Lane I'm like she's got to make it so I went to throw it in reverse and then right then she hit me okay um if you want to have a seat in the cars you're not getting wet that's up to you you don't have to stand out here okay let's go look in the right way hey the evidence in the road clearly states what she says all the all the broken debris or sand all in that lane all the mud like in the bottom of our truck busted off in the turning lane you can see it's all so she was never away from her yeah okay and it looks like she did what she said she because it was the where the impact looks like it happened was like a Carling back from the Stop Bar like she was in Reverse trying to get away from her okay 60 to 65 wrote on here on January 27 2020 at 9 12 p.m Eustis police responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of North State Route 19 and County Route 44. while investigating the drivers an officer was having difficulties obtaining information and smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver at fault after interviewing the second driver involved in the accident he returned to the original driver as his investigation proceeds thank you I think it's still learned the axle go ahead and step out for me go ahead and sit back here if we can talk to you what's up Glenn step on son just went to jail he was on probation he came back he came to my house and came to my house I told him afterwards he needed to leave he came back the probation came to the house when I told him he needed to leave I have his daughter I'm I'm taking care of my grandbaby I'm just doing a whole lot right now sounds like a lot going on I do I do I work I work every day I work two and three jobs where are you heading to now oh where are you heading from somebody else the house playing it's holding two for one second I was playing um pool and whatever and he had to pick up his son and he got violent so I got in my car and I left I'm just trying to get home I don't go out I don't do much of anything I work I work every day for two jobs my sons my son's in jail what's a good phone number for you man my son my youngest son is at home with my grandbaby how old's your youngest son 19. okay this is this is uh that's his news okay I told them I was working I needed to get away I haven't been out in about two three months yeah okay I don't have no drugs the best I don't do no drugs you can search my car I don't have a problem with you searching my car okay well we're going to have to inventory it anyway because it has to be towed why does it have to be pulled the front wheels busted off to my house no to your car I'm saying yeah if you have if you want to pay the tow company well triple it doesn't work in crashes so it'd have to be if you have full coverage insurance that basically what happens is it'll go to the nearest tow yard and your insurance company makes arrangements from that point so can I can I have somebody tow it and I have the money I have two three hundred dollars yeah if you want to pay a tow company yeah that's not a problem I can do that do you have a tow company do you want to come get it or do you want us to get one to come get it you can that's not a problem okay okay we can make that happen if the tow company comes here unless you have cash to pay them on the spots they can arrange with you price wise to take it to your residence or wherever um or else it goes to their tow yard that's fine I have 200 cash right now I live right was the mirror already like that or was that from the crash no my mirror is like that before yeah I'm just asking when I turned like he was on he was more on this side than this side but it doesn't matter I have insurance I'm not working yep I have a question can I get a police report yeah the report will be generated before we leave he'll get you with that information how was that when he was more this way than I was where's the other direction uh she's in the truck yeah I'm sorry what was that so how is that more me vehicle one than vehicle two one when I turned she was in my Lane well all of the damages and the vehicle parts are inside of her land do you understand where I'm coming from I do I work for Law Firm I'm not worried about it I mean but I mean I I just I just have what Witnesses say and where the the vehicle's damages are that's that's all I got I know you that's all I got so and I totally understand that's why I try to pull in here because my car wouldn't move well yeah I could have told you that way yeah I worked in a body shop if you look in there you can see the axles completely ripped apart I didn't you can see all the grease I worked in a body shop like I said yeah can I look on my car I'll even give you the flashpoint okay I have a flashlight yeah if you look inside of there inside where the wheels are I know right here I already seen this well I already seen yeah of burglary he took probation which I told him not to take because I know he's on drugs so he took probation and I told him not to his probation come to the house after the celebration he's not staying in my house so when he I guess when he went to probation he violated he's starting yeah probation called me because he said he would the baby was at a neighbor's house which is the lady was at my house and I have good fishing around my house I don't have custody up there but you know I'm trying to make sure his mama her mama's in Iowa she was on drugs too so my son isn't my son right now is in Lake County Jail um violation of probation and also for some kind of burglary something else some kind of burglary that told Centennial yeah I'm trying to maybe sit with my grandmother yesterday she's my own crab baby yeah I mean I don't have a life where are you coming from tonight I was coming from a friend's house we were playing pool and his mama told him he needed to come out his son so I decided out to avoid the further conflict no where is Home at again I'm not trying to do nothing wrong I got you [Music] all right well here's the deal okay I've already concluded my part of the investigation the track the crash investigation okay however now I do believe that you've been drinking and I'm gonna conduct thank you for being honest with me thank you I have been drinking it what of it because when he told me how to leave he got aggressive so you know well here would you do me a favor would you be willing to participate in sobriety exercises whatever you want okay I'm okay with carving cold yeah okay well before you leave today I'm just gonna have you do some field sobriety exercises just so that I can justify that I feel he's comfortable with you driving okay I want to make sure I know I want I want to I want to make sure that you are coherent enough and have the ability and you have any normal faculties okay okay for most of these exercises we're going to use this line right here can you see this line yeah okay usually I got tape but unfortunately we don't have tape right now so did you see that line though oh perfect so what do I need to do what oh I don't put your feet together perfect put your arms down by your side fingers pointed straight down just like that perfect okay [Music] when I start the exercise I'm gonna hold something in front of your eyes and you follow it with your eyes and your eyes only okay don't tilt your head don't turn your head nothing like that follow with your eyes and your eyes only okay make sure your feet stay together and your arms down by your side the whole time okay when I tell you to begin you can go ahead and begin okay I'm gonna find this flashlight I'm not gonna try it right in your eyes okay okay you can go ahead and begin okay thank you now for the next so we're gonna do the walking turn exercise okay okay when I tell you to begin you're gonna take nine steps all the steps are going to be Heel To Toe just as such and while you do the steps you're gonna count one two okay three Etc out loud all the way until nine nine you said right yes ma'am You're Gonna Keep Your Hands Down by your sides just like that you're gonna stay standing straight up okay no wait until I tell you to begin when I tell you to begin you're going to count out loud do your nine steps Heel To Toe along this line right here in front of you that you told me you saw earlier and when you get to your nine step you're going to take a few small steps turn around and come back and do this exactly as I explained earlier nine Heel To Toe steps exactly as I explained earlier buddy give me one second okay begin when I tell you to begin [Applause] okay before we begin you're going to begin Heel To Toe already okay that's not going to count as your first step Heel To Toe just like that when I tell you to begin then you can begin your steps okay okay it's okay I'll let you know when to begin okay you can go hands down by your side it's not in front of you down by your sides okay with either your left or your right foot you're gonna stick it out and keep it at least six inches above the ground just as such okay you're gonna look down at your foot and count one one thousand two one thousand three one thousand Etc okay don't don't begin until I tell you to do so and don't end the exercise until you get to 30th okay count to 30. correct if you put your foot down just put it back up and continue you can choose either your left or right foot you understand these are the instructions yes okay begin this door okay foreign following the arrests the suspect Wesley was transported to the Eustis Police Department where she consented to a chemical breath alcohol test the lower of the two samples yielded a result of 0.143 breath alcohol content she was charged with driving Under the Influence impairment or driving with unlawful blood alcohol level with property damage otherwise known as d-u-b-a-l Wesley played Nolo contendary to the charge which was adjudicated as guilty exactly one year from when the incident occurred she was ordered to pay a total of 2 576 dollars and 42 cents the defendant's balance as of April 16 2023 is 718 she was sent to zero days in jail 50 hours of community service which was bought out a six-month license suspension and vehicle immobilization for 10 days she was further ordered to attend a victim awareness program DUI school participate in an alcohol evaluation participate in a drug evaluation and was not allowed to consume or possess alcohol although the suspect was sentenced to 12 months of probation after two months and 25 days on April 21st 2021 Leslie's probation was terminated
