See her hands. HEY! HEY! [ __ ] >> I'M OFFICER RAMOS WITH THE SAN ANTONIO POLICE DEPARTMENT. This critical incident video release is intended to provide you with information as the department currently understands it about an officer-involved shooting that occurred on March 28th in the 1300 block of South Mesquite Street. I will walk you through video relevant to the facts of this incident as we know them so far. Content of this video may not be suitable for all audiences. Audiences. Viewer discretion is advised. Officers were searching for a suspect in a shooting that had occurred minutes earlier at a nearby car wash. Officers investigating that shooting were informed that the suspect was believed to live at Palafox. >> What's up? Huh? I don't know. You're waving your fingers at me. Step up. Look at the suspect right now. You don't reach for anything, dude. Hey, don't reach for anything, bro. Don't reach for anything. Don't you do it. Don't do it. Don't do it. >> Palafox then reached for a rifle and fired on officers. >> Step him up. Step him up. Step up. Step up. Step up. Hey! Don't Don't Don't Don't Don't Let me >> See her hands. HEY! HEY! [ __ ] [ __ ] PUT YOUR [ __ ] HANDS UP. >> OFFICERS RETURNED FIRE before retreating for cover. After the initial burst of more than two dozen rounds, Palafox entered the home on two occasions firing at officers while inside the home. Palafox exited the house rifle in hand and took a position between two vehicles to further engage officers. The department's Raven drone captured Palafox's location between a truck and the Range Rover. Palafox is seen pacing with a rifle in his hands. An officer was able to find a location that provided visibility of Palafox and fired a single shot incapacitating him. Palafox was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased on March 31st. No one else was injured. Investigations into deadly force are comprehensive and can take over a year. A reminder, this is our current understanding of the situation and could change as investigators gather more information. The San Antonio Police Department does not make any determinations as to whether procedures were followed until all facts are known. All officer involved shootings are forwarded to the Bear County District Attorney's Office
