welcome back folks to the DUI Channel we are Normal Illinois where on January 16 2020 at 1 59 a.m a normal police officer in an unmarked Patrol vehicle traveling westbound on Vernon Ave observed a gray Hyundai sedan traveling above these posted speed limit in the opposite direction the patrolman conducted a U-turn to follow the vehicle when the officer caught up to the vehicle and observed the tires crossing over the solid yaw lines he activated his emergency lights once pulled over the officer approached the vehicle as his investigation begins hello awesome normal police I got a body came around hey do you know why it's happening tonight I do not hey partner these double yellow lines man you've been all over them all the way down Vernon here however yeah oh I'm so sorry no problem okay oh these are his uh come on dude I'm telling you following the arrest the suspect Alexander was transported to the normal Police Department for further DUI processing on Route both the officer and suspect heard a sound later identified as a suspect's possessions falling off the roof of the patrol car what was that thing on the roof like you talked about I did not okay then I don't know what it was nope that's in my bag I dropped his cell phone on top of my car somewhere between the traffic stop and the floor away maybe just maybe just after all right [Music] after an exhaustive search the suspect's possessions were later found without damage upon arrival to the police station the suspect was read the Illinois warning to motorists and consented to a chemical breath alcohol test all those things are still available to you as an option thank you very much can you look that over real fast make sure it's good to go excellent um anyways you still have all those things available it's just if you refuse it you automatically lose it for a year okay so uh we'll get to that point here in just a few minutes you and I got to kind of hang out for about 15 20 minutes round about I've already started the clock so you know we're already ahead of schedule and uh then I'll ask for a sample okay at any time you need to ask any questions you ask right away okay all right deep breath and yeah so the reason it feels like that is it's designed to get a deep breath or a deep Long sample so Azure the volume goes up all right you're at a .098 so you're still about the same as you were out on scene um but yeah whenever your volume goes up it clicks as soon as it starts going down a little bit the results of the test yielded 0.098 breath alcohol content the suspect was charged with improper traffic lane usage driving under the influence of alcohol or DUI and driving while blood alcohol content is above 0.08 percent while the former two charges were dismissed on October 22nd 2020 the court withheld judgment on the second DUI charge following 24 months of court ordered supervision on October 24 2022 the defendant met all conditions of supervision and the disposition was formally dismissed He was ordered to pay two thousand eighty eight dollars and fifty cents in penalties this amount has been paid in full along with supervision the defendant was further ordered to participate in alcoholism treatment Alexander did not receive any jail time in the sentencing
