Um there's this random dude that keeps knocking on my door and I went to go see what he wanted and he's literally just swaying at my front door, just standing there swaying. And he won't he won't leave and he just told me to mind my own business and get the fuck out of his driveway. And he's just trying to creep me me and my wife out a little bit. Did he come in a car or on foot? He's in a random vehicle. He's in a Ford Edge. It's like a bluish silver color, mostly blue. Mineral County 911 I just called about 10 minutes ago about some guy that was just standing at my door swaying and they told me to call back if he leaves. He don't sound drunk or anything, but he looked kind of messed up and he's or there's something wrong with him. Also, while he was here, the USPS delivered something. He stole that, dude. Mineral County 911 operator 8, tell me exactly what happened. There is a man sitting in my driveway in a small blue four-door sedan. I'm not sure what other than a Ford. Um he keeps getting in and out of his car. He's cussing and swearing. Um the last thing he just said was, "I'm going to fucking kill you." And he looked right at my house where I was standing in the dining room, but he keeps getting out and looking at people coming up and down the road. I don't know if he's crazy, he's drunk, he's high, but he certainly scared the shit out of me. It's like I don't know, blue gray, blue and if I remember right. Yeah. And he was just leaning out the window going, you know, "I'll get you." Towards the traffic? Yeah, you know, Yeah. And I was like, you know, "Dude, you're lucky but 30 years ago I'd have turned around and went back, you know, you got a problem?" You know. And it was it was it was just as you were driving by? Yeah. I was just I was driving by and he was just he was parked in the driveway. Yeah. And just leaning out of the way, just like a people off. Just I guess it was he was acting crazy. So you were coming this way? Yeah. Okay. Cop was standing there and the guy was coming at him and then they started punching each other and he was trying to hold him the cop. Yeah. >> And he finally got him down and put a shirt over his head. Kid kid's shirt over his head and he pulled him down to the man and all of a sudden he busted up and the cop backed up and he just kept trying to come to him and they started fighting again. He I don't know what he's mad about but he's screaming and yelling. But I stopped in the right in front of the and I beeped my horn real loud. I said, "What can I do?" But you know, I probably should have just keep on going. >> Right. The guy was horrible. Horrible. He's out of control. So they're they're rolling around on the ground together and then this dude gets the best of of your officer. of my officer. Was Was my officer laying on his back? Uh I couldn't tell you. Turned around and came back and then what happened when you turned around and came back? >> They were still on the ground over here somewhere. I couldn't see them until they both stood back up. He pulled his weapon, told him to freeze, stop and then he shot three times. The dude fell on him. Okay. Don't see. Do you live here? No. Okay, what are you doing here? I'm supposed to be here. What? WHAT WAS THAT? 73 SHOTS FIRED. SHOTS FIRED. Subject's down. 11-32. 73 Three rounds fired to the chest. One of the subjects incapacitated on the ground. The deputy remained on scene alone for approximately 5 minutes before additional units arrived. 59, we're both calling on 17 and myself. 747 You're all right. You're all right. Just sit down. Just sit there. The suspect, Brian Donald Miller, had previously failed to appear in court and was taken into custody. He was later released the Washtenaw County Jail on a bond. At the time of the incident, Miller was wanted by the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office on two outstanding warrants for failure to appear related to charges of larceny and resisting and obstructing. He also had a prior criminal history that included domestic violence, larceny, and resisting and obstructing law enforcement. The investigation into the shooting didn't publicize any motive for Bryant's actions. Bryant was pronounced deceased on scene. The deputy was released from the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
