Show us your hand. >> Show us your hands. >> On January 3rd, 2025, a sheriff's deputy with the Kent County Sheriff's Office was on routine patrol in Planefield Township. The deputy observed a vehicle drive past him with no lights on. He attempted a traffic stop and observed the vehicle take off at a high rate of speed. Due to weather conditions, speed, and the vehicle having no lights on, the deputy self-terminated but continued in the last known direction of travel. While turning on to Saw Drive northeast, the deputy observed the suspect crash into a stopped vehicle before fleeing. He reinitiated the pursuit and observed the poor driving skill of the suspect. He follows the suspect before watching them crash into a utility pole at 5mile and Northville Drive. 43 24 I'm 22 m an hour coming up to Calvin Squa Nip. 24 Northville and 5 mile partial plate Edward Union Nora. Michigan law, specifically the Haida Act or Holmes Youthful Trainee Act, offers young adults aged 18 through 25 the ability to avoid a permanent criminal record. We were unable to find any public records pertaining to Crew and were informed by the 17th Circuit Court that records for this case were sealed, likely indicating the Haida Act was invoked. As such, Crew is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a sealed process. The passengers were both released to parents and were not charged with any crimes. Thank you for watching.
