Pull them into the cracker barrel. >> 235. Copy. 177. Stop. from wood. [clears throat] Around 11:09 a.m. on May 25, 2025, officer Derek Riker with the Mount Laurel Police Department observed a black 2006 Jeep Cherokee driving with an expired registration. He activated his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop and the driver pulled over into the parking lot of the Cracker Barrel, 1240 Route 73. He then exited his patrol car to make contact with the driver who was identified as 20-year-old Angana Torres. Hey, how we doing? Hey, I'm officer Riker Mount Laurel. Please just pardon me. Just got to know the body cameras on. Okay. Can I take a look at your license, registration, proof of insurance, please? >> Yeah. >> Thank you. >> By the way, we just got this call from the shop. >> Okay. Okay. >> Um, it's been in the shop for like almost a year. >> It's literally been there for like a year. >> Okay. >> Thank you. Is this still a good address for you? The Marlton one? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Can I ask why I got pulled over? >> Yeah. So, it looks like you're um [clears throat] well, you got a couple things going on here. You got the uh stuff hanging from the rear view mirror there. You can't have that. Um he doesn't have his seat belt on. And then also your uh registration looks like it's suspended possibly. >> So, >> yeah, [snorts] it probably is cuz it's been in the car for some reason. >> Do you have uh your license on you, sir? >> Thank you. registration probably like what every year or something. >> So you said the car was in the shop for a year. >> Yeah, basically it had a So they thought it was um what did they think it was? A differential, but it turns out it was >> transfer case. >> Yeah, it turns out it was the transfer case and it took them a while. >> Okay. >> They kept it for a straight year. >> Yeah. And then also >> I never heard of that one. You know what I mean? That'd be a lot of uh money in storage fee. I would assume they charge you for it sitting there or anything. >> They charge me 900. >> They put a starter and a back window on for me. >> Yeah, the back glass was broken. >> Okay. Uh, do you have insurance for the vehicle now? >> I'm sorry. That's on my phone. >> Okay. [snorts] Thank you. >> No problem. >> Let me just call my grandma real quick. >> [snorts] >> is not in service. If you fail to [snorts] Where are you guys coming from this morning? >> The hotel. >> Hotel Laurel or >> Yeah, the motel service. >> Oh, okay. I got you. How do you like it there? Was it nice or what? >> No, you've stayed at way nicer places away. >> I got you. You trying to pull it up on an app or something? >> No, I'm calling my grandmother cuz I'm under her policy. >> Okay. All right. Yeah, if she could send a picture of it or something like that, as long as it shows that it's for this vehicle during this time, that would be good. I'm going to go do some things in my car real quick. Okay. >> Y >> up. Let's see. Expired reg expired inspection. No insurance. Suspended deal. Uh one, two, three, four. And we're going to get um display improper display and um view. All right. All right. And let's see 39 340. So let's see. H should I tow this vehicle? >> You have the three strikes. [snorts] >> I do this. Three strikes. >> I was always told like the three strike rule where it's like suspended or no DL. Yeah. >> No [snorts] insurance, no registration. >> Yeah, I'm going to >> Yeah, [snorts] I'm not 367 or 168 from 177. >> Not okay to tow this vehicle. Suspended DL expired regge. No insurance. Hey, I don't think uh if you got one of you guys went over the radio, I couldn't hear your response. >> Yeah, you're you're good for the uh >> Okay. All right. Thank you. I appreciate it. >> All right. Later. >> Have any luck with the insurance? >> No. >> No. Okay. All right, sir. >> Here's your ID back. Okay. I am issuing you a ticket for not wearing your seatelt. Okay. It's $47 and you can pay it at the website by the date down there. If you want to take it to court, it's your right to do so in that top right. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. You [music] have any questions? >> No. >> Okay. And then, ma'am, can you step out of the car and just talk to me in the back here? I got some paperwork for you. You're not under arrest or anything like that, but >> my doors broke. >> Yeah. Yep. Angana provided a driver's license, but it was determined that her license was suspended due to numerous traffic violations. She also failed to present a valid registration or proof of insurance. After checking the system, officer Riker determined that the jeep had to be towed. Angiana was asked to exit the vehicle and she initially complied. She was served with her motor vehicle summones and told to gather her belongings. >> Thank you. >> Don't mind my office. My bed. >> So, listen. So, your your license is suspended. >> What? >> Your license? Yeah, your licenses are is suspended for having for failure to have insurance. I'm not sure, but they said failure to have insurance. >> That's definitely my charger. >> Yeah. So, failure to have insurance is the reason why they suspended it. And then they also said persistent violator. So I guess you have 18 points or something. How long is it suspended for? >> I I'm not 100% sure, but it's currently suspended. Okay. So there and the registration on this vehicle has been expired for a year. Okay. So the so the registration on the vehicle is expired for a year. There's no insurance and your license is suspended. Okay. >> So for those reasons, I can't let the vehicle be on the road. Okay. We have to tow it. >> Yeah. I have I have to tow it because there's literally nothing on the vehicle, you know what I mean? There's no registration. >> Can Can we try to wait and see if she >> So So that's why they Well, we've already waited a long time as it is, you know what I mean? Um and you have to be able to show insurance at the time of the stop. Um if you do have insurance on the vehicle, bring proof that the vehicle was insured at the time of the stop to court with you cuz you have you have some tickets here, okay? And the insurance the suspended or mandatory court anyway. So, might as well take all the tickets to court with you, honestly. Um, this is going to be for the Um, sorry, I apologize. What's a good fair number? >> So, just grab just grab whatever you guys need out of the vehicle. Um, and then you could arrange for a ride. What's up? >> I I have to, unfortunately, because there's literally nothing on [music] the vehicle. Like, there's nothing to help me out. You know what I mean? There's like you're supposed to have registration, a license, and insurance, and there's And there's [music] nothing. >> Pay for it to get out. We both have children, man. Can I please just drive? >> Unfortunately, I can't because cuz like I said, so the registration's been expired for a year. There's no insurance [music] and she has a suspended license and she's the registered owner. So there's >> I I can't unfortunately there's there's nothing on the there's nothing to help me out. You know what I mean? Like if if she had a license and insurance but the vehicle was just expired registration wouldn't be a big deal. But without any of the three things that are needed, my hands are kind of tied. You know what I mean? >> They're towing the car. >> They're they're just getting their stuff out of the vehicle, whatever they need, and then that's it. >> Hey, ma'am. >> If I step out, >> you're good. Yep. >> Yeah. Just whatever you need to get out of the car, just do that. Um cuz he's got to he's got to get a move on with his job. You know what I mean? >> I don't even know. >> And just the tow truck driver is just going to need your vehicle key, but you could take all the other keys off there and and keep them for yourself. >> Thanks. I appreciate you coming out. >> Yeah, no problem. Um, so this is going to be for you. >> Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Joffy's arrived. >> Hey man, >> can I just explain these tickets to you too? Here. >> Yeah. >> So, here's your here's your stuff bag. You can keep these documents. Okay. So, listen. Um, like I said, some of these are a mandatory court date, okay? So, the court date is going to be the same for all of them. It's June 3rd [music] at 10:00 a.m. If you need to reschedule, the court's address and phone numbers up there, okay? Um, just make sure you don't miss the court date or else you know how that they'll issue a warrant and all that stuff. Just make sure if you need to reschedule, you call them ahead of time, okay? Um, so there's one for the the no insurance. Okay. There's one for the uh regge being expired for a year. Um one for your suspended license. Okay. Um and then we got So there's no front license plate on the vehicle. And then this stuff hanging down from the rear view here. And the inspection is no good as well. Okay. Cuz that's been expired for a year. Like I said, some of these are payable. Some of them are court mandatory. You could if you want to pay the ones that are payable, you can. But like I said, you got to go to court anyway. to probably just take them all to court, honestly. Um, but the court date is going to be the same for everything. Okay. >> Um, do you have any questions for me? Okay. Here, I'm going to leave you with these. Okay. Thank you. Hey guys. So for your vehicle, so they're taking it to Chroy's Towing, it's going to it's in Cherry Hill. Okay. >> Yeah. We need to stop at the police station and get the release. >> Yes. So once you're able to show that there's registration and insurance on the vehicle um and that you're the registered owner, just bring your license and show that you have registration and insurance. >> Also, you know, that's good enough to get the vehicle out. Just bring a licensed driver with you. Unless you get your license reinstated before then, um then you could drive it back. But once you're able to show proof of registration and insurance, come down at any time with your ID and then uh the officer will release it to you. Okay. >> Okay. Can you write down where my car is at? >> Uh so he could give you a business card. So it's if you want to take a picture of the side of his truck or whatever you want to do, his the phone number and address is on there, but you need to come to the police station first. Okay. So that's that's the Mount Laurel police. >> Can you grab my charger? Good night. You guys are good, right? All good. All right, they're good. They got everything. Uh, the key should be in. Did you guys leave the key in there? >> I don't know where it's at. Somewhere in there. So that yeah, the key for the car. That's all he needs. >> You see it in there? Or >> do you have the Can you help him with the key for the car? Cuz he just needs to put it on that tow truck. >> To be honest, bro, I don't know where I I'm not [ __ ] looking. >> Oh, here. Not [ __ ] looking. >> I'm not looking for the [ __ ] car. >> Don't worry about it. He'll he'll put he'll yank it up on the the bed. >> Okay. Oh, you got the key. Are you just going to winch it? Okay. All right. I got you. Sorry about that. [music] >> Okay. Well, then I'm putting it in my [ __ ] car to my brother. The [ __ ] Ma'am, what are we doing? >> Cleaning till my brother come home. >> Okay. >> So, he needs to So, he needs to take the vehicle. Okay. We don't want you to get hurt. We don't want any of us to get hurt. Okay. Like I said, you're just going to get charged. So, she was the driver of this vehicle. Anyway, towed her car. She didn't have any proper documents, everything like that. >> Okay. >> She's about to leave. She locked herself in the car or the thing was about to be towed there. She locked herself in the car. >> There was a pocketk knife in the car. She started cutting her legs with a pocketk knife on her thighs and stuff like that while we were trying to coax her out of the car. Then she um spit on us, was trying to [music] bite us, kick us, all this other stuff while we took her into custody here. Um she's obviously currently in the back of that vehicle there. Um, we're waiting for a female officer to come search her since she was giving us a hard time spitting on us, all that stuff. >> Um, she said she's pregnant, 20 years old. Um, she doesn't, she doesn't, I don't know how far along she is. She's not really showing a super lot for my opinion. Um, but according to them, she is. And then she, like I said, just the superficial cut. She was doing it right in front of us while we were trying to get her to drop the knife and stuff like that. But nothing to where it's going to be like, you know, obviously she's not coming out or anything. But uh so that's where we're at right now. Um she's pretty agitated. So I guess you guys are just kind of like standing by until we cuz we're going to have to take her out of the car to search her anyway. >> And then she's obviously going to skip. >> Um let me just talk to my sergeant real quick here too. >> We're on that. >> All right. I'll grab a picture. >> Hello. >> Thanks for coming. >> Yes. No problem at all. >> Um so we got her in the back of the car there. >> I read the notes a little bit. >> Yeah. She was spitting on us. Uh kicking, punching, all that stuff. No. >> Yeah. So, she's got two sets of cuff cuffs on her cuz that's just how we could cuff her. >> Yeah. No problem. >> Um, >> so I don't know how she's going to be when we take her out here to search her. >> Okay. >> Um, she's got some superficial cuts to her leg. She was just cutting herself while we were trying to coax her out of the car here. >> Okay. >> Um, >> uh, well, she is now. No, she's not drunk or anything like that. It's just, um, >> she didn't want to. We were about to, you know, it was just all Title 39 stuff, but then she decided, yeah, she locked herself into the car. Um, >> and you know, like I said, she was just cutting herself kind of to prevent the imminent, >> of course. >> Um, but >> what's easier if you try and walk her over? >> So, yeah, we didn't get a chance to search her yet. No problem. >> All right. >> Let me go and I'll do whatever. >> Hey, Sarge, are we loading her up in the ambulance and then she's going to Willenboro? That's the plan. >> Uh, you go with you. >> Uh, Willingboro's got the lock down unit though. Yeah. >> We only said one day. >> I just messed up everyone on my >> Oh, man. >> I should know. >> They don't accept county. They don't accept people on the weekends or >> I don't >> They don't. >> Yeah, they don't accept people on the weekends. >> I don't know if that's true. >> I think my behavior there. >> All right. He just doesn't >> Yeah, >> he doesn't want to go. Clearly. >> Who's you're riding the ambulance? >> I'm right here. All right, we'll figure it out once we get in the ambulance. >> We took somebody yesterday. Yesterday is the weekend. >> Here, I'll see.
