This is going to be at the Marri Marathon gas station. >> Hi, how are you? What's going on? You have two flat tires. >> Yeah, both my tires on the right side are flat. This [ __ ] wouldn't get over when I was going down. [ __ ] the tree gun. I'm not sure what street I was on, but >> yeah, >> this [ __ ] wouldn't get over, so I had to hit the curb. And >> around 11:39 p.m. on April 19th, 2025, officer Shane McCarthy with the Lakewood Police Department responded observed a white 2000 to Chrysler van driving east on Detroit Avenue near WC Clifton Boulevard. The vehicle had the flat tires and he observed the driver make a left turn traveling north onto W. Clifton Boulevard from Detroit Avenue. The driver eventually pulled into the Marathon gas station at 18,100 Sloan Avenue >> in order for me to have enough room so I didn't hit him. >> You didn't hit another car? >> No. >> No. >> That's what I had to do in order for him. This is the first. >> Have you been drinking at all? I went to a metal concert. I had maybe one shot like three hours ago, but this is what I had to do in order to not hit him head on. >> Yeah. >> Because I don't want to go through that. I don't want to hit a car. >> Yeah. >> So, I hit the right thing in that aspect. >> Officer McCarthy exited his vehicle and made contact with the driver of the Chrysler who was identified as 22-year-old Cheyenne Great House. Cheyenne told the officer that she was coming from the Mercury Lounge located at 18,26 Detroit Avenue. It seemed like the vehicle had been involved in an accident earlier that evening. As he was speaking with her, Officer McCarthy detected the odor of alcohol and observed other indicators of impairment. She admitted to consuming alcohol earlier that evening. After officer's flowers and Bry arrived on scene to assist, Cheyenne was asked to perform field sobriety exercises. >> Yeah, I have hit the curb instead. This is the first the closest gas station possible to >> from the um >> So, so what's your plan right now? >> I have called Roadside. I've called the my grandmother who the car is in her name, so she's on her way. I've called my ex who I rely on for, you know, just emotional support and whatnot. >> Okay. >> So, they're both on our way. >> Is this the only damage to the car right here? >> Yes. >> And you're sure you didn't hit any other types of cars or anything? >> Not hit anything but the curb, but both tires are flat as you can see. >> Do you know what street you're on when it happened? >> I am not too sure. >> Okay. >> I was on my way home to grab something and then I was going to a DJ event. Obviously, that's not happening. following her a little bit. Both her tires are obviously flat. She said >> she was going She You said you don't know exactly what street it was. >> No, not exactly. >> I guess she didn't One of the cars didn't give her enough room to hit the curb. So, >> where'd you hit it at? >> I'm not sure what street I was on, but there was some guy heading towards me. He did not get over whatsoever, so I hit the curb instead because I did not want a head-on collision. >> Where are you coming from? Uh, Mercury Lounge, which is over on Madison, I believe. >> Okay. So, you went to Mercury Music Lounge. >> Yes. I was coming from there. >> I was past Lake. I'm not from Lakewood, so I don't know the streets very well. I'm from Parma. >> Okay. Where were you planning on heading back to tonight? >> I was heading back to Parma. back to Parma >> to sit for a while >> and talk to my grandma about, you know, my time at the show that I just came from. >> Okay. And you said you already called a toe. >> Yeah, I've already called everybody I need to call on the way. I stopped for a while, put my hazards on >> on the side street, called everybody I need to call, and then I came to the first available the the first closest gas station. >> So, you came from Mercury and then You can go anywhere like before you came here or did you get here straight from Mercury? >> This is straight from Mercury. >> Okay. Well, weren't were you turning northbound from going eastbound? >> I was heading towards Karma. I had my directional on towards my house. And this is the >> I originally saw her going eastbound on Detroit. >> From where? Cuz I saw >> You sure you didn't go anywhere else? >> No, I didn't stop anywhere else. I >> Okay, cuz Mercury is back that way. You were coming from this way going eastbound. >> It's just the way my directional takes me. It's really weird. My directional is a lot different from a lot of other people's apparently. >> What directional? >> Uh my GPS. I mean, >> what GPS do you have? >> Uh I have Google Maps, so it takes me a lot of different weird. >> So, it's going to take you westbound to go back eastbound. >> I All I know is that >> I'm just trying to make sense of it cuz I mean see it from our side. >> Here, I can grab it. >> Yeah. Like it. Is it unlocked? No. >> Not making any sense. >> Any weapons? >> Oh, absolutely not. >> All right. >> See if I still have it pulled up. I hope >> it should be still running. Yeah, it's still running. >> Yeah, I put in directional to the first first gas station and from there I went if it wants to load. I know I went west Clifton. I know. Yeah, I went from Mercury to Detroit to West Clifton. Then had me turn on to Lake. I think >> Lake's all the way up there. >> Yeah. I'm not from here so I'm not sure of the streets. I'm not around here a lot whatsoever. >> Yeah. >> So, I'm not too sure of anything really. >> How far from Mercury did you hit like the curb? >> Oh, like a minute and a half. >> Hard. >> Are you sure you didn't go in the Rocky River? Did you go over a bridge? >> No. I was going It had me go down two different side streets. Oh, please don't die. I only have 5%. So, I had my phone charging. So, I was worried about that on top of just getting home. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Who's the car come back to? >> Is it come back to your mom? >> Uh, my grandmother. >> Your grandma? >> And what's your name? >> I'm Cheyenne. She's on her way right now. So, that and side. >> Do you have a ID on you by chance? >> Yes, I do. And I have the registration if you need that, too. >> Okay. Just your ID for right now. >> Okay. I appreciate you guys following me and all that cuz I know trouble is trouble. So, >> Yep. And you're positive you hit a curb. >> Absolutely positive. >> Okay. >> And these tires are they were [ __ ] to begin with cuz it's >> And what's your date of birth? 11202. >> Okay. >> You sure you didn't hit a car or anything? >> I'm very sure I did not hit anything. >> There's like marks on the back there. >> Oh, yeah. That's old. This was from >> 14 deal. >> It's a [ __ ] car to begin with. So, >> I'm just >> If I did, I would have pulled over and called somebody. Go into my car and grab my cover cuz it's cold out here. >> Yeah, you can grab your jacket. >> I appreciate you. I ate a beer that I was supposed to bring to my friend, just so y'all know. >> You had a what? >> I had a beer I was supposed to bring to my friend who I was meeting up with a couple hours later on. >> What do you mean if they were like from Mercury or >> just a gas station? >> Oh, okay. So, it's not opened or anything? >> No, it's rolling around in there. >> All right. There's a monster. >> If you guys want to check the vehicle, you can go be my guest. There's nothing but kids. I said if you guys want to check the vehicle, be my [ __ ] guest. >> Okay. There's nothing in here but kids clothes and >> we're just trying to figure out exactly what happened like accident wise. That's >> No, I get it. Y'all are just trying to do your job. I'm just trying to get these tires fixed. >> So, you were coming from Mercury and you're going >> I was going to Parma, >> which is eastbound, right? You were going east. >> I am so directionally challenged. It's not funny. >> Okay. >> I also have speech impediment. Promise I am not shitfaced. God damn it. This thing is so confusing. I hate putting this thing on. >> You said you already texted your grandma. She's on the way. >> Yeah, I already called everybody. I needed to call while I was on my way to the gas station. >> You know how long till she gets here? >> Maybe like 20 25 minutesish. >> Okay. [Music] Looks good, but takes a minute to figure out >> cuz it's just a shaw, but the shaw looks more like a dress. >> Yeah, >> it's annoying. >> A tag on the inside. Tags on the inside. Thank you. I just want to be warm. >> Yeah, I called a couple people, told them where I was at, told them what happened. >> Just trying to figure out how to move about the situation. So, did it happen like right when you were turning out of Mercury or >> Uh, I turned out of Mercury and then >> going eastbound >> possibly. I'm very directionally challenged and a little stupid because I've had 10 concussions in the past 5 years. So, my brain don't work like how it's supposed to. >> So, you got All right. So, you got out onto Detroit. >> Mhm. >> It happened before you hit West Clifton. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> It happened before. go up there and just make sure nothing else got hit. >> It was a white big white pickup truck. It had a wide body kit on it that was coming towards me. I said, "Oh, [ __ ] shit." >> Yeah. >> Because he was going straight on. Didn't get over whatsoever. And there was enough room to get over. >> So, I just kind of turned the wheel. >> That was on the main road or the side street? >> Side street. I don't know exactly which side street. >> Okay. That didn't hurt. Hit the curb. Both tires popped. >> I got out, put the hazards on to make sure that it wasn't the axle or anything like that that was crooked or split or anything like that. It was just the tires. >> How long were you at Mercury for? >> Oh, I think an hour and a half, 2 hoursish. >> Okay. >> I didn't plan on being there for long. I was just meeting up with a friend, seeing his friend's band. M >> it's a good show alto together but >> I didn't want to be there too long because I had plans after that which >> obviously aren't happening. >> Yeah, >> as sad as it is. >> All right. >> How long have you been doing this? >> A year and a half. Year and a half. >> You got any military in your background? >> Nope. Nope. >> Really? Mm-m. >> How much? You said you had like just one shot. >> Just one. >> One shot. >> Just one. Okay. >> I'm just a little stupid and cold. >> And by little, I mean a lot. >> Okay. >> Again, I've had just about 10 concussions in the past 5 years. I'm >> Oh god, who knows? Just I've had one small accident about six months ago and besides that it's just stupid [ __ ] Like my best friend, he took me on his back. We were jumping off a dock in Lake Wallace, which is in Bura. >> Mhm. >> And he didn't realize that the lake was only six feet up to the dock. >> And then past about five feet past that, it's about 8 feet. and he whacked my head on the bottom of the bottom of the um the bedding >> of the lake. That was probably the worst of it about two years ago. >> And I have not been as smart since, which god I wish. I'm so smart and now I feel like I'm just a box of rocks, you know? >> Okay. Back tire doesn't look as bad as the front tire. Left side's okay. Right side is [ __ ] But yeah, all the, you know, bumps and bruises besides that have just been old accident accidents. Plus, this is from a junkyard. So, >> okay, >> we already got it preused. But I should probably call her and let her know that I'm at a gas station with y'all. >> Let her know what's going on if that's okay with you. >> You're I thought Did you already call her? You said >> Yeah, but I just want to keep updating her on everything, you know. >> Okay. Keep callers. >> All right. >> Okay. See how long it's going to take till she gets here. 67 today. My ass don't connect. >> Hello. So, I am at a gas station on West Clifton and North One. Uh, both the right tires are flat as I've said. Definitely going to need new tires. I've got some officers with me. Everything seems to be okay. Besides the tires, everything's fine. There was no head-on collision because I avoided that. Da da. Yeah. Well, looking now, they were flat before. The front right tire could be saved, but the back The back right tire is definitely will need replaced, but the Can you shine your light on the front right tire for me, please? >> Whoa. Maybe I'll fall. Yeah, I'll call Paul and then I'll pay for the tires. >> I know. I'll pay for the tires. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. Right. I'll call Paul. Paul will help. Right. Right. >> I just take a guess. Pull out the parking lot on the film. [Music] >> Yeah. Uh how will hook it up? Take me home. And then we'll go from there. >> No. Yeah, he's in the street. I saw it earlier. So, it'll be all right from there. >> Okay. I'll call Paul and Eileen and I will let you know from there. I'll keep updating you. I only have 5% so I'll keep my phone in charge as much as I can. All right. I love you. I will. Bye. What? >> Okay. >> Paul, he owns a tow truck company, so he's been >> every little bit and bob he toes for me if I need. >> All right. >> Um, come over here. I just want to go somewhere where it's flat. I want to make sure you're good to drive. Okay. So, >> well, I wouldn't be driving from here on out. I'm gonna get my friend Paul >> to come and tow this back to my house. I'm gonna go back to my house and then we've got tires in our backyard and replace it. So, I'm going to replace it. >> Um, >> and then go from there. >> Well, do you have any like Do you wear any glasses or have any contacts at all? >> Well, I'm supposed to wear glasses, but >> supposed to wear glasses. >> Sometimes do. >> Um, any head leg injuries? >> Nope. Nothing like that. >> Besides these big old monster stompers, >> that's for sure. >> Oh, yeah. I like to call them monster stompers. >> Well, I'm I'm going to have you go through some test. >> Alphabet. >> Absolutely. >> Can you just recite it from A to Z without singing it? >> A B CDE E. >> Don't sing it. Just >> A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P H Q R S T U V W X Y and Z. >> Okay. You just put the phone down for a moment. >> Sorry. Trying to call peoples. Get this tow truck out here. >> Let's not worry about that right now. >> Doesn't help that it's cold. >> Just put your feet together. Put your >> take my shoes off cuz these >> will you will you be more comfortable walking without your shoes on? >> Absolutely. These things every other step I'm cracking. You don't have to. >> Okay. >> This is just a stationary one. You're not going to have to walk or anything in this first one. So why don't you just leave them on for now? >> All right. Step on flat ground then. Might help. Do you want to put my leg up? Is that what this is? >> No. No. No. Just put your feet together. Keep your arms to your side. Okay. >> All right. All right. >> Officer McCarthy started with the horizontal gaze. Neistas HGN test. During the HGN test, Officer McCarthy observed the lack of smooth pursuit, distinct, and sustained nestagmas at maximum deviation and the onset of nestagmas prior to 45°. He also observed vertical nestagmas. The second exercise was the walk and turn test and she did not touch heel to toe on each step. The final exercise was the one leg stand test and Cheyenne failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and put her foot down before the test was complete. >> During this test, keep your eyes on the tip of my finger. Okay? And do not tilt or move your head. Do you understand? >> Yep. >> Okay. Try not to tilt your head. Okay. >> Trying >> keep your head straight. Look with your eyes and your eyes only. Keep your head straight for me. Okay. Keep your head straight. [Applause] All right, good. We got two more tests to do. Um, probably sidewalks best. All right, >> probably do the sidewalk down there. >> This one. All right, let's take a walk down here. >> Any of these. >> Do you have more comfortable shoes in the car or not? >> I do not. >> Okay. Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. This is >> going to be Yeah, we're going to be You're going to have to walk for this one. So, if you feel more comfortable taking them off, I would do so now. Okay, >> that feels good, but they cost $8. >> Yeah, let's see. I think this this is probably fine. >> Um, let's just get on this little line right here. Make it a little easier. All right, this is called the walk and turn. All right, we're going to have one more test after this one. Okay. >> For this test, I'm going to get you in the starting position. Okay. >> All right. Just let me know what I got to do. >> Okay. So, keep your arms to your to your side. Okay. Um you're going to put your right foot in front of your left foot with your right heel touching your left toe. >> Okay. >> So, do that. Okay. Now, stay there. Keep your arms to your side. Okay. Don't start until I tell you to to begin. Okay. >> Understood. >> So, that's the starting position. Um during this test, you're going to imagine like a thin straight imaginary line in front of you. You're going to take a series of nine heel to toe steps on the line. >> You're going to turn back around and take nine heel toe steps back in a line. Okay. >> Only nine. >> We're set. Yes. There and back. Like I said, don't start yet. >> All right. >> I'm going to demonstrate it for you. Okay. So, I'm in the same position as you are right now. Stay in the starting position. All right. Don't start. I'm going to demonstrate it. >> One, two, three, so forth until you get to nine heel to toe steps. Once you get to nine, you're going to take a series of small steps around your lead foot like so. And you're going to take nine heel to toe steps back in the line. >> Back. >> Yes. Uh don't start yet. So stay in the position. >> I'm freezing. >> Okay. >> Bad time to wear close to >> during the test. Just count your steps out loud. Uh, keep your eyes on your feet. Keep your arms to your side. Okay. >> Mhm. >> Do you understand the test? >> Yep. >> Don't stop the test until it's cold. >> Sorry, I'm [ __ ] freezing. >> Do Do you have any questions? >> No. Okay. >> Besides, if I could borrow a pair of pants. >> All right. You may begin. >> All right. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 >> Okay, got one more test to All right, got one more. Right, just put your feet together. Keep your arms to your side. Same thing as before. >> Uh during this test keeps the warmth in. >> During this test, you're going to lift either foot. You're going to keep it approximately like 6 in off the ground. You're going to keep your foot parallel to the ground >> and you're going to count out loud 1,00 2 1,000 3 100 like that. Okay. >> All right. >> Um and keep going until I tell you to stop. You understand? Just make sure you keep both your legs straight during the test. Okay. Do you have any questions? >> Nope. No questions. >> Give me one second. >> All right. Let me know when to start. >> All righty. All right. You You may begin. >> All righty. 1 100 1,00 2 100 3 100 4 100 5 100 6 100 7 100 8 100 9 100 10 100 11 100 12 100 13 100 14 100 15 100 16 Do I have to say 1,00 no matter what? >> Just keep going till I tell you to stop. Sorry. >> Do I have to start over? >> Just keep going till I tell you to stop. >> Okay. Left off on what? 13, 14, 15. >> Oh, you missed out. >> Okay. I'm so sorry. It's a very bad night to wear close to nothing. >> Okay. >> Does not help. >> Do me a favor uh for this last test. Okay. I need you to turn back around. Okay. based on her to flat tires, the odor of alcohol, her admission to consuming alcohol, and her inability to adequately perform the field sobriety exercises. Officer McCarthy placed Cheyenne under arrest for operating a vehicle impaired Oie. After she was placed under arrest, Cheyenne did answer a few questions. >> All right, just let me know what to do. >> Turn back around. >> All right. >> All right. Just put your arms out to the side. Okay. Just like that. All right. Can I put my shoes back on? >> No, we'll get that. >> Okay. You going to put my shoes back on for me or >> So, you're going to be under arrest for OVI. Okay. >> Awesome. Uh, do I have to be a cop? Are you going to breathalyze me or >> He'll explain all that when we get back to the station. Quick question. So, you already called somebody, right? I've called multiple people. >> All right. So, this is what's >> I should probably call more people. I need to call the tow truck. >> Well, the tow truck. We're going to be towing the car. Okay. >> Okay. >> Uh you can make a call to somebody to come and pick you up. Once you get back to the station, all the paperwork's done. If you have a sober adult to come and pick you up, >> then you're just Yep. then you'll be out of here and you don't have to sit in our jail. If you got no one to pick you up, then you're going to be sitting with us for six to eight hours till you sober up. Okay. >> All right. >> All right. Do you have any questions? >> Nope. >> All right. We'll grab your shoes and everything. >> That would be wonderful. >> Anything else you need inside the car? >> Uh, besides like the just my bag really. It's got my wallet and everything in the front. >> Yeah. >> All right. >> Everybody calls it a purse. >> 74 yesterday. >> I know, right? Should be unlocking nothing. >> Still got to search you >> besides the bait. >> You got any gloves or are you good? >> Nope. >> Uh, yeah. >> Hit my bait before I hit my fire. >> Not right now. >> [ __ ] >> So, anything on you that we should know about pockets? Anything in any pockets? >> No. I got a vape between my boobs, but that's about it. which I know you will respectfully grab. >> Yes, we will. >> That is it. Besides, you know, earrings, jewelry. >> That's fine. When they get back, though. >> Oh, try and flip my hair so you can not pull my wig. >> You don't have anything else on you besides a vape? >> Nope. >> All right. Did you run her already? >> Uh, dispatched. >> I had a prior OBI a couple months ago. I'm on probation for that. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> That's it. >> I'm just going to grab the >> Okay. >> Sticking it out for you. There you go. >> All right. I'll get you. Can >> you fix my shaw for me, please? >> Your what? the cover. It's really cold. >> I gotta Oh, >> it's cracking. >> Get you in back here. >> All right. >> Cover my butt. Don't >> flash you guys. >> There we go. >> Put this on you. >> I'll scope a little bit. >> All right. I'm going to ask you some questions here in a bit. Would you be willing to >> I'll answer. >> All right. >> As long as you >> Hey. Hey. I got a question. I could write for uh like unsafe vehicle or something like that, right? For this. I mean, you can um she was going down to >> she turned her hazards on when she was driving like low speed limit, too. >> I don't know. >> It's up to you. I now if she just kept driving then I could say like I would say yeah, but >> I think that's what her plan was. >> She pulled in here first though or did you tell her to pull over like >> No, I never told her to. So, she was initially, it looked like she was going to initially head eastbound Detroit and then once she noticed I got behind her, I think that's when she turned. >> Well, I don't think she got behind her. How she >> It's up to you. I mean, if it was me, I probably wouldn't just cuz I mean, she pulled into here to park. But >> no, it's not like you stopped her going northbound on West Clifton and she's like, "Oh, I didn't know my tires were destroyed." You know what I mean? >> Yeah. So yeah, I would just I mean yeah, I mean you would I would put that in the report though. That's what caught your attention. I mean >> Oh yeah, >> she pulled over here. She was driving on two tires, flat tires, and now they're destroyed. So while speaking with her, you observe this and detected that. So >> all right, I'm going to start the inventory. Or are you going to read that first? >> Um I'm going to read this. That's that's cool. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. These are super [ __ ] cold. Why does this always happen? A bunch of sprinkles on the back of this car. All right, couple things. Um, I got to read you >> I got to read you your rights. Okay, >> at least you do. Last one didn't. >> Before we ask you any questions, you must understand your rights. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in court. Um, you have the right to talk to an attorney for advice before we ask you any questions and to have him or her with you during questioning. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you for any questioning if you wish. If you if you decide to answer questions now without an attorney present, you will have the right to stop answering any time. You also have the right to stop answering any time until you talk to an attorney. Further, you have the right to have an attorney present during any questioning. Do you understand your rights as they have been right to you? >> Yes, sir. >> You do? Okay. [Music] >> Read reading you your waiver of rights. I've read the statement of my rights and understand what my rights are. I am willing to make a statement and or uh answer questions. I do not want an attorney at this time. >> I understand and know what I am doing. No promises or threats have been made to me and no >> he said that he wasn't sure which >> basically what that's saying on the back of this paper there's a bunch of generalized questions. All that waiver rights is saying is, "Do you want to answer those questions now without an attorney?" >> I do not mind. >> It's up to you. And like he said before, if you want to answer some and you want to stop answering, you can. Or if you don't want to answer them at all, that's totally up to you. We can't force you to. And I can't tell you you should and I can't tell you you shouldn't. You know what I mean? >> If you scratch my face for me, because my wig is really messing up my face. >> I do not scratch your face for you. But do you kind of understand what the waiver rights are? >> Oh, no. I understand. I was just hoping I could get I could get a face scratch for it. >> Did you want to answer questions? Yes or no? It's up to you. >> I don't see how it could harm me in any way. >> Okay. Well, yeah, she's >> I am just fine with that. >> Ask me whatever you guys want. >> Okay. >> I >> just remember you could stop answering at any time. Okay. >> No, understood. >> I know how this goes. >> Thanks. I just know my face is really itchy and I can cooperate with whatever questions. >> What's your first name? >> Cheyenne. C H E Y E N E. >> So, a couple questions. Were you driving this vehicle? >> Yes, I was. >> Yes. Okay. Where did you start from? >> I have everything listed in my app cuz I've got memory issues because of my um >> Do you have diabetes? >> I do not. No. Did you receive a head injury recently? >> Yes. >> Okay. How >> in the past 6 months recently is what you mean? >> Yeah. >> That's as recent as it can get. Um >> you said it happened within the past 6 months. >> Yes. >> Okay. Bring it. >> I hydroplaned and maneuvered the car. So I hit the tail end instead of head on. >> Okay. and I hit my head on the window. >> Do you have a speech impediment? >> I do. >> Okay. Um, and this is just what it says on here. Are you lame? >> Hm. >> This is just >> Does that mean bodily or mentally? >> Um, I'm really not sure. >> We can we'll skip that one. >> Okay. Okay. Is there anything wrong with you physically or mentally? >> Mentally, there can be uh some questions. But >> what's wrong with you mentally? >> Uh besides PTSD, depression, anxiety, CPTtsd. >> Okay. >> There there's a list. >> All right. >> Little too sad for my own good is what I call it. Just to be nice. See, the last time this happened, nobody asked me any questions. Didn't do anything. He just put me in handcuffs and stuck me in the car. >> You don't remember us asking questions? >> No, he did not. I remember. He did not ask me any questions. Okay. >> He didn't make me do any road tests. He just stuck me in the car, put me in handcuffs. >> It was weird. wires.
