The officers immediately made contact with the driver who was identified as Victoria. They instructed her to exit the vehicle. Victoria told officer Miller that she was trying to go home after leaving work. As he was speaking with Victoria, he detected the odor of alcohol and observed other indicators of impairment. Based on the officer's suspicion of impairment, Victoria was asked to perform field sobriety exercises from work. You're coming from work. Where? Yeah, I work in a detox center. You're working in a detox center. Okay. Here, give me this right now. What's your name? Victoria Martin. Victoria Martin. Okay. Yeah. I was going to host a bikini show 235. You know, who does that vehicle come back to Victoria Martin? Obviously, you're impaired. So, that's our driver field sobriety test and clearly you're not able to drive, but we're going to run through some field test. See how impaired you are. Okay. So, first things first, you have any injuries on you? You hurt? No. You have anything wrong with your eyes? You have glass eye. You're blind to anything. No. Just pay attention to him. All right. The final exercise was the one leg stand test. During the one leg stand test, Victoria failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and almost fell multiple times. Face me. Face me. Okay. All I want you to do is stand your feet together. Feet together like your feet aren't together. Feet together, hands down by your side. Okay. All I want you to do is stare at the tip of my pen and just put your eyes eyes alone. Okay. You're not going to move your head. Just follow the tip of my tongue with your eyes. Can you touch the tip of my pen, please? Okay. So, you know that's what you're supposed to follow. You understand? You understand? Yes. Head straight. Look right at the pen. Don't move your head. Start with your feet on the end of the line. Good job. Okay. I don't want you to fall. Okay. So, all I want you to do, put your right heel in front of your left toe on the line. Okay. I'm sitting on the side for demonstration purposes. Okay. So, right heel front of your left foot. You have to touch like look. Look at your feet. You're not touching. Right heel. Nope. Wait. You got to wait. Okay. All I need you to do, put your right heel in front of your left foot. Can you get that for me on the line? Wrong way. I'm going give you one more chance. Okay. Okay. Now, I just want you to stand in position until I tell you to begin. Want you keep your hands down. Get back into position. You got to touch. Your right heel has to touch your left toe. Okay, that's fine. We're going to move on. Okay. All right. This next one's easy. All I need you to do, stand your feet together, hands up by your side. All right. When I tell you to begin, either your right or left leg, I need you to pick it 6 inches off the ground. Keep your foot parallel to the ground and count 100,00 1 100 to two 100 3 until I tell you to stop. 199. Put your foot down. Raise it back up and continue counting. Do you understand? I didn't tell you to begin. I just need you to follow directions. Do you understand? All I want you to do is keep your foot or hands down by your side and stare at your feet at all times. Do you understand? Okay, you may begin. Remember to count. Why am I so I tell you to stop? One more try. I apologize. Yep. No need to apologize. All right. All right, ma'am. Last thing. You can put your feet down. Put your hands behind your back. Based on her traffic infraction, the odor of alcohol, and her inability to satisfactorily complete the field sobriety exercises, officer Martin placed Victoria under arrest for driving under the influence.
