Hey, how's it going? >> Hi, >> Officer Brow Tan Police Department. The reason I'm stopping you is that you went right through that red light. >> I'm so sorry. >> You went right through that red light back there. >> My I'm sorry. I'm trying to get my it fell on me. >> Yes. I'm so sorry. >> Any reason for that? Cuz you you just went right through it. That's fine. Where you coming from? >> Right there. >> Where's right there? Like >> literally >> around 3:05 a.m. on March 21st, 2025, officer Kyle Brown with the Tampa Police Department observed a westbound 2016 Ford Mustang running through a red light at the intersection of East 7th Avenue and North 15th Street. He activated his lights to initiate a traffic stop and the driver pulled over in front of 1416 East 7th Avenue. The officer made contact with the driver who was identified as 23-year-old Alexia Lzama. >> Do you have your driver's license, registration, proof of insurance? >> Sorry. No worries. >> Thank you. So, Alexia, where where exactly are you coming from? >> Right there. >> Where's right there? >> Literally right there. So, >> where were you at tonight? >> Where you at? >> Honda downtown. >> You have the registration insurance? >> Yes. We all go here. >> Thank you. What about the insurance? >> What year? >> Should be on there. >> Should be on there. >> Yeah. >> You think the insurance is with your registration? >> Yeah. >> I got a new insurance for >> as of last week. >> Last week. >> Last month. >> Last month. You know who it's with? >> Um, >> I have to um hold on. Oh, where's my phone? >> Well, you have to be adopted for that. >> One stop show, huh? >> Okay. All right. Good stuff. >> I'm sorry. >> No worries. No need to apologize. >> I had to see. >> It's somewhere up here. It's somewhere in here. It's somewhere in here. >> Yo, related. >> No, we're best friends. best friend. >> Oh, >> I'm sorry. I have the paperwork in here. Hold on. >> But this is my insurance. >> I I do have the Yeah. >> Okay, perfect. >> Just me and her and then >> All right. Give me a couple minutes. >> Yeah. As he was speaking with her, he observed indicators of impairment and detected the odor of alcohol. She would later admit that she and her passenger were coming from Club Prana in the Abore City neighborhood. She admitted to drinking alcohol before operating a motor vehicle. Based on his suspicion of impairment, Alexia was asked to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety exercises. after officer Boden arrived on scene. >> Officer B. >> What's up, brother? >> How you doing, sir? >> What you got, man? >> Uh, Officer Brown got you right here. >> Okay. >> Normally, I do it myself, but this one's kind of late. Um, am getting a bit of an odor. She didn't know where she was coming from. >> Okay. What we stop her? >> She blew the red light. >> Okay. >> And um >> I saw you light her up, but I I didn't see. She was coming this way. >> Yeah. I had a yellow light and she just blew it. >> Okay. Oh, cool. from works. Okay. So, Odor >> Odor wasn't able. She gave me her registration. Uh but she was kind of fumbling around with her license when she had it. >> Okay. >> And then for whatever reason, she believes her insurance was on her registration. >> Okay. So, confusion, odor, and fumbling fingers. Okie dokie. >> Hey, how you doing? >> Yes. >> What's going on? What happened? We got pulled over because >> I don't know where I got pulled over. >> You don't know? >> I have no idea. >> Okay. Where you coming from? >> Here. >> Right there. >> What's from Pirana? >> Yeah. >> Where you guys headed to? >> Where's home at? >> Clear water. >> What? >> Clear water. >> Clear water. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you have any medical problems or anything like that? No. >> Do you take any medications? >> Can you hop out real quick for me? Hey, come on over this way. So, you said you guys were coming from Piranha. >> Mhm. >> How long you guys at Piranha for? >> Literally an hour. >> About an hour? >> Yeah. >> Okay. You guys going else or just Piranha? >> No, just Piranha. >> Just Piranha. >> Oh, yeah. >> Sorry. >> Okay. How much have you had a drink tonight? >> A drink or two? >> Just a drink or two? >> Yeah. >> Okay. What are we drinking? >> Where? >> What? >> Oh, what? Is it wine or beer? Mixed drinks? >> Tequila. >> Tequila. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Can I check your eyes as part of field sobriety to make sure you're okay to drive? Tell you what. I'm going to have you sit right here. My flashlight. Do you wear glasses or contacts? >> Um, I should be, >> but you're not currently. >> But I'm not. Yeah. >> That's okay. All right. So, feet together for me. Hands on by your side. >> Can you see my light? >> What color is the light? >> Red. >> All right. I'm going to move the red light from side to side. Keep your head still. Follow the red light with just your eyes. >> Mhm. >> Okay. Officer Boden started with the horizontal gaze nestagmas HGN test. The second exercise was the walk and turn test. During the walk and turn test, Alexia did not touch heel to toe on each step, turned improperly, and took an incorrect number of steps. The third exercise was the one leg stand test, and Alexia failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion. >> Look, keep your head still. Just use your eyes. of the holders that they have on file and not all of them. He's got a problem. >> Keep your head still. Do me a favor. Tip your chin up a little bit. And there you go. Keep your head still though. >> Sorry. Okay. Alexa, what was your name? >> Alexia. >> Alexa. >> Alexia. >> Alexia. I'm sorry. I'm seeing some things in your eyes that's giving me some concern as far as your level of sobriety. Would you do a couple other field sobriety exercises for me? >> If you want to. >> Okay. >> I mean, I would prefer you would. >> All right. Tell you what, let's walk over here into the parking lot right quick. Six. All right, Alexia, I'm going to have you step right here in my flashlight for me. So, stand right here. My flashlight for me. I see you got the high heels on. Are you comfortable wearing the high heels? Do you want to take the high heels off? >> Um, I feel fine with them. >> Do you have other shoes in the car you might want to put on? >> Um, I have slides, but I think they're fine. >> Okay. If you feel more comfortable taking your shoes off for the exercises, by all means, I want you to take the shoes off to do your best. >> So, but that is completely up to you. Yes, absolutely. All right, hang tight just a second. I'll be right back with you. All right, Alexia, >> do you see this white line we have right here in front of us? What I want you to do is put your left foot on the line for me. >> You know the difference between your right and your left? >> Yeah. >> Which foot is this? >> Left. >> That's your right foot. >> Right. Yep. So, go ahead and put your left foot on the line for me. Now, you're Logan. Sorry. >> There you go. Take your right foot. >> We're talking about that. >> Take your right foot, touch heel to toe in front of your left foot. >> Nope. So, take your right foot, touch heel to toe in front of your left foot. Okay. Hands down by your side. Make sure you're touching heel to toe. There you go. Stay like that. Don't move until I tell you to start. Okay. Now, whenever I tell you to start, what I want you to do is take nine heel totoe steps down the line. Okay? I want you to keep your hands down by your side. I want you to look down at your feet and I want you to count each step out loud as you take it. So, it's going to look like this. One, two, three, so forth, so on until you get to nine. Now, once you get to nine, you're going to keep this front foot still. You're going to take your back foot off the line and then using a series of small steps, turn around just like this. >> Okay. >> Okay. Once you get turned around, you're going to take nine more heel to toe steps back down the line just like you did the first time with the first step number one. So, one, two, three, so forth, so on until you get to nine. Okay. Once you start, I don't want you to stop. Do you have any questions? >> Do you understand the instructions? >> Mhm. >> Okay. Make sure you're touching heel to toe, hands down by your side, touching your legs, and if you have any questions, you can go ahead and begin. Turn around, right? >> Yep. Just like I showed you and just like I explained it to you. >> You guys have any females that you can start sliding this way. >> That's all right. You can relax. >> All right. I'm going to have you step right here in my flashlight for me. So, feet together. Hands on by your side. Just turn your body face towards me. There you go. Feet together, hands on by your side. When I tell you to start, what I want you to do is raise one foot about 6 in off the ground. Yep. I'm going to show you what it's going to look like. So, don't don't do anything yet. Hang on. >> So, 6 in is about the length of a dollar bail or cany coke about yay high. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> So, you're going to keep Nope. Hang on. You're going to keep both legs straight. You're going to keep your hands down by your side. >> Yes. >> You're going to raise one foot about 6 in off the ground. Point your toe forward in front of you to keep your foot parallel with the ground below you. Here, Alexi, I don't want you to do anything until I tell you to. Okay? So, point your toe forward in front of you to keep your foot parallel with the ground below you. Look down at your toe. Count out loud. 1 10002 1003 1004 So far one until I tell you to stop. >> Okay. >> Do you have any questions? >> Do you understand the instructions? >> All right. You can go ahead and begin. >> 100,002. >> Make sure you're looking at your toe while you're counting. >> Oh, sorry. 1,003 100,000 8 >> 1 9 >> 1,100 >> you keep going until I tell you stop. >> Oh 1, 11,23 1,56 >> All right, that's all right. You can relax. So feet together for me. hands on by your side. >> Based on her traffic infraction, her indicators of impairment, her admission to consuming alcohol earlier that evening, and her inability to adequately perform the field sobriety exercises, Alexia was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. After she was placed under arrest, her friend attempted to argue with the officers before walking away. >> Just go ahead and put your hands around your back for me. So, what's going on right now is you are getting placed under arrest for driving under the influence. Okay, we get down to booking. I am going to ask that you submit to a breath sample that's going to measure the amount of alcohol that you have in your system. If you don't, there's some penalties that would go along with it. Namely, your license would get suspended for a period of one year for a first refusal or 18 months if your license has been previously suspended for a prior refusal. >> Okay. Will you provide a breath for me tonight? >> Yes. >> Okay. Did you guys have a few more comments? >> Uh, was it Robin? Uh, no. Uh, Huey Lindsay. >> Oh, perfect. Okay. >> Can I grab my shoes? >> Yeah. >> Can you slide them on? Are you able to slide them on? >> Yeah. >> Hang on. You said you have slides in the car. >> Uh, yeah. I do have >> I'm going to grab I'm going to grab your slides out of the car. >> I'll I'll put these back in the car. >> That way it'll be easier for you to get on whenever you get out to. >> Yeah. >> Where are your slides? >> We're going to come on this side. >> Oh, >> where where are the slides at in your car? >> Um, in >> in the back seat in the trunk. >> In her passenger. Let's see. Okay. >> Sorry. >> Grab a seat for me. >> Careful now. [sighs] You going to write a ticket for the red light? >> It's up to you. If you if you normally do, then sure. If you don't, then don't. >> My DUI, I was going to ride her. So, >> I'll ride her. Good. Do you want me to just ride her and put you as a second officer? >> That's fine. Whatever you're more comfortable with. >> If you're good with that, I'll do that. >> Yeah, that's fine. I would have did it, but >> I know I'm trying to I'm the only one here, so I'm trying to make sure I don't get if there's like a SBI or something coming out. >> Know that I would have >> No, it's it's not let us know. I don't mind doing >> No, no. Listen, I ain't taking it off your plate either. >> I do. You always got to come. >> Huh? >> Listen, next time. >> Uh, no, but just throw it on the hood. I'll get it. >> Eric, you could just call me next time. I'll I'll take care of it for >> Yeah. Um, no, but you guys get off at like what 4? Yeah, that's the only reason why I would >> No worries. >> Yeah, we'll we'll snatch it. >> Hopefully there ain't no >> deal with it. >> There's cocaine on the inside of it. That's good with you though. >> I I make No, >> you're touching it without gloves. That's a one. >> No qus. Listen, DIY is a one on officer safety. I assume this is her phone. >> Okay. >> Yeah, looks like it. >> I I have her license. Yeah, it's uh Alexia >> something else. Okay. >> No. Um what do I have to do? >> Work on getting you a ride home. >> Don't worry about that. I know that. But like for her for her? >> For her? She's going to go to the Orient Road Jail. She'll be down there. >> I have to wait how much? And I have to pay how much? So, she'll have to wait for eight hours before she can get out. If it's a misdemeanor, it's a $500 bond. >> Okay. >> Do you have any credit cards or anything? >> Uh, just uh >> You want to work on the supplement? No, I'll finish. >> Yeah. >> That's it. >> That's it. >> I already told you that. Everything that he just told you, I already told you. >> So, just work on your ride. >> So, you can you can start getting home. Okay. >> All right. So, call an Uber or call a friend or >> I already got my friend coming over, but like what do I what do I have to do for her? >> So, we've already I've told you that already. >> He told you he told you that already. She cannot do anything. She is going to jail. She will be at jail for >> If she can be in jail, then I could do something for her. So, what is that? Y'all can't be slick with that. I can pay for her bond and >> but she will not be able to bond out for 8 hours. So by the time >> that's fine. But y'all can't tell me I can't do nothing for her when I can do something for her >> after 8 hours then. Yes. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> And that's if the the judge grants her a bomb. The judge has to grant her a bomb. You don't know what the judge is going to grant her. We're not the judge. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Yep. >> Nope. Yeah. Where you at? All right. Will you step out? I'm gonna just search you real quick before they take you to jail. Turn around and face the car. >> Yeah. Go ahead. >> She had high heels. >> No worries. >> There you go. >> Turn around. There's the car. She drive. >> No. Cars will not get to the You have anything on you that's going to poke me, stick me, hurt me? Where will it go? Where will it go? >> I'll let you know. I don't know yet. There's a list of companies we use. Tell everyone on top of the list. >> Relax. >> Stay safe for me, please. Thank you. Why don't you stay for me? >> Facebook. >> Yeah. >> And jewelry and all that ice. >> All right. All right. Go ahead and have a seat. All right. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. Still owing [snorts] Go ahead first. >> So, um, what charges do I have? >> What's up? >> What charges do I have? >> Do you do the video? Do we have any kind of maker model on it? going to be parking lot. Say goodbye to Thank you. Do you have an estimate like when will I be out? >> Yeah. So, you have to say for minimum of 8 hours. So, it's 3:30 now. So, 11:30 would be pretty much the exact earliest that you'd be able to get out. >> Okay. >> Probably going to be closer to noon. >> It won't be longer than that. >> Say what? >> It won't be longer than that. I mean, it could be, but it's it's it probably not. I mean, you you'll you'll have a bond. Uh so, if you pay the bond, then you don't have to see a judge. Uh but if you don't pay the bond, then you have to see a judge, and it might take a little bit longer. >> Okay. Um, >> so your car is getting getting towed by&m Towing. >> I'll write it down with your paperwork. >> So if I get bailed out, let's say >> Mhm. >> Um, how can I get my car? >> You just got to go to there a lot. >> And I have to pay like a separate >> Yeah. You have to pay a toe. >> Okay. Like a separate toe fee. >> Yeah. Okay. >> So, the the tophi is different than than the arrest. >> Okay. Um it might So, as long as I'm out by tomorrow, like >> Well, what do you mean tomorrow? >> Like, I don't know. Like, as long as I'm I don't know cuz I don't know. Well, they have court in the morning. That's all I know. >> Well, if you pay if you pay pay a bond, then you don't have to go to court in the morning. >> Like, if I pay a bond right now? >> No. I mean, you go Well, if you pay a bond before you go to court, then you don't have to go to court. >> But it's you still have to say the 8 hours. So, >> pretty much like when the 8 hours is up, you pay the bond, then you don't have to wait to go to court, too. Okay, >> does that make sense? >> So, if I wait the 8 hours, I pay the bond. >> Then you don't have to go to court. Then you don't have to wait to see a judge. >> Okay. >> To get out. >> But that's not longer than a day or two days. >> What's that? >> That's not longer than like a day or like two days. >> Yeah. >> No, typically it's I mean it might take like an hour or two, but it's not going to take, you know, a day. Like I'm going be honest with you. It's 3:30 in the morning. You probably you probably wouldn't go to first appearance court, you know, anyway. So I don't know if they have an afternoon for first appearance or how they do that type stuff. I couldn't tell you. >> Typically the fastest way of getting out is paying a bond. >> Uhhuh. >> So that's about all I can tell you. >> But my bond is separate from like the toll. >> Correct. How much do you think the toll is going to be? >> Uh, I don't know where&M their lot is. Um, but it's like 50 to hook it up and then like $5 a mile. So, probably >> what's 200 somewhere in there? >> 200. >> But like right now, let's say like I'm going in right now. >> Yep. >> When would do you think they'll that like I'll be out? I mean, like I said, noon is probably a safe one 1 p.m. is definitely a safe bet. Okay. Heat up here. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. Heat. Heat. Oh my god. trigger one. Please check your messages, please. 68 97 66 Do you think I'll be out in the morning? >> Like I said, I think 1:00 p.m. would be a safe bet, but other than that, I couldn't tell you. >> Okay. All right, I got to read this to you real quick. Can you hear me? Okay. >> Mhm. >> I'm Officer Ben of the Tampa Police Department. I'm now requesting that you submit to a lawful test of your breath for the purpose of determining its alcohol content. If you refuse to take the test I requested of you, your driving privilege will be suspended for a period of one year for a first refusal or 18 months if your driving privilege has been previously suspended or if you've been previously fined under Florida statute 327.35215 for refusal to submit to a lawful test of your breath, urine, or blood. Additionally, if you refuse to take the test I have requested of you and if your driving privilege has been previously suspended or if you've been previously fined under Florida statute 327.35215 for a refusal to submit to a lawful test of your breath, urine, or blood, you'll be committing a misdemeanor in addition to any other penalties which can be imposed by law. Refusing to submit the testing is admissible as evidence in a criminal proceeding. Okay. Do you understand that? >> Mhm. >> Is that a yes or no? Yes. >> Will you provide a breath sample? >> Yes. Okay. >> Let me get you in real quick. All right. Hop on out for me. Same t right here. Whatever. All right, we're going to come through this door over here. >> All right. >> Yeah, it's just >> uh we'll be inside in just a second. It wouldn't be that bad if the wind would stop blowing. >> Yeah. Alexia was transported by officer Boden to the Orient Road Jail for further processing. She agreed to submit to a breath test and her back results were 0.198 and 0.190 which were over the legal limit of 0.08. She was charged with ADUI 316.1934 and eventually released pending her court appearance right there. Morning security. >> Yes. Hop on in.
