The spot was East 7th Avenue and North 15th Street. He hit his lights for a stop. The car pulled over right in front of 1416 East 7th Avenue. Brown approached the driver, a 23-year-old named Alexia Lezama. He noticed clues she was impaired. Booze hung in the air. She confessed they had left Club Prana in Ybor City. She owned up to drinks before driving. Suspicion grew. Officer Baden arrived. They asked Alexia out of the car for sobriety tests. Baden led off with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus check. Then came Walk and Turn. She missed heel-to-toe steps. Her turn was off. Step count was wrong. Last was One Leg Stand. Her foot didn't lift right. The red light run, impairment signs, drink admission, and failed tests sealed it. Officers cuffed her for DUI. Her friend snapped at them, then stormed off. Baden drove Alexia to Orient Road Jail.
