all right and how much do you have to
drink
just two shots okay you could do the
other two tests
I'm gonna run you through quick uh two
just just pay attention to him okay
so it looked like you had three warrants
and one of them was three warrants out
of uh I think one was out of Edison I
have a court date tomorrow okay okay I
think one was raw away no one of my
words is from Elizabeth yeah okay and
I've been trying to pay it you didn't go
to court or you didn't pay your tickets
no
450 yeah
all right
all right how are we doing
hey just seeing I'm recording okay
give your license registration sure
are you lost
[Music]
telling her yeah I could tell it looked
like you were uh wasn't sure where you
were going
okay whose car is it it's my best
friend's car she lives with me at my
house
all right and I'd go there but we just
came from work
partial what'd you say you're what
okay no problem
all right I'm just worried about her
since she's driving no she's good she's
just not from around no that's fine
um you have a partial brake light out
okay
yeah just let your friend know to get
this let me just see your license your
license yeah
[Music]
it's suspended all right let me just
because
and I you know I appreciate the thought
but let me just I gotta I gotta look it
up okay I gotta just confirm that what's
your name do you have it on you though
yeah you don't have any ID
okay and you do have that or don't have
that on you can I see that
okay
and where you guys headed right now five
to three minutes away
let me just just hang tight for a second
for me okay can you um do you know where
the insurance is for the car can you
look for that the registration sale all
right
foreign
[Music]
move into the CVS parking lot up there
[Music]
headquarters changed my location to the
CVS on Morristown Road
you live
okay all right hey just so we're out of
the shoulder here I'm gonna have you
move into the parking lot the CVS right
up ahead do you know where do you know
where that is
it's right up ahead like 50 70 feet
exactly what's that I'm gonna fall
behind you yep yeah just so we're at it
I don't like being in the shoulder okay
foreign
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
foreign
what's your name again
Kayla just park in one of the spots
there yeah I'm gonna pull up right
behind you
[Applause]
[Applause]
before that goes out
just
[Music]
hey so because she's suspended you're
someone else is gonna have to come pick
you up I can't let her drive away from
here okay
no you've been drinking tonight all
right
right or wrong
yeah no I mean listen I just
and I appreciate you being honest with
me I'm just having them confirm that it
is suspended so I'm just waiting on that
right now were you able to find the
documents for the insurance and all that
stuff
and you're Shauna correct no
no they're your friend okay
you wanna you have your ID on you yeah
[Music]
say it again all you need is somebody
else to pull up with a driver's license
yeah I mean someone else can drive this
car just can't be you you know what I
mean and it's not going to be you
because I know you
[Music]
we're at the city
no it's just sitting here
how you doing
um
go ahead
[Music]
I just came from
everybody
yeah that'll do it yeah
okay where you guys coming from
oh okay
[Music]
you guys were coming from the zebra yeah
okay were you at the zebra tonight
look I came you're bartenders yeah
yeah
I am not right I still have them just to
make sure she got home safe you know
what I'm saying I got what you're saying
you're both bartenders
you worked at the zebra yeah okay
so I was just following GPS I'm sorry
yeah I could tell you were you were
confused I could tell
he was coming here picking her up it was
like oh hold up I never took it okay how
do you usually get to work if you
suspended I just started working every
zebra so
have you been driving somebody yeah
someone driving yeah but because I
couldn't have nobody driving me yeah so
it just been the first you know rent is
the way everything else is doing I
appreciate you trying to do the right
thing you know she's been drinking you
want to drive for it but at the same
time you know you're suspected I'm
[ __ ] myself up you know in the in the
same mix so you know you wouldn't you
guys would have been better off someone
else driving the car okay it's not her
fault no not at all
important thing is that she wasn't drunk
driving tonight right you know that's
that's why you know like I thank you
guys for being so Cooperative with us
and everything else yeah no problem
it's like I said I'm just I'm just
waiting on my dispatch just to confirm
the uh that your license is suspended
[Music]
do you have someone on the way to come
get you or drive the car yeah
say it again
he's right here
the other officer
[Music]
he's right there
how much did you have to drink tonight
just curious
all right are you on the phone
do you mind just stepping out for a
second for me just so I can talk to you
out here you leave your phone there
nice you wanna just run her through HDM
real quick
so you don't seem like you know super
intoxicated I just want he's going to
run you through a quick test okay so
just listen to his instructions
what's your first name Kayla Kayla all
right just stand there and face me
you wear contacts or glasses yeah
you have contacts in yeah okay
do you have any problem seeing the tip
of my finger no okay what I want you to
do is follow the tip of my finger with
your eyes only keep your head still okay
[Music]
oh
my God that's all right you could blink
that's fine
[Music]
foreign
how much do you have to drink
just two shots okay you could do the
other two tests okay all right I'm gonna
run you two through a quick uh two just
just pay attention to him okay
I do wear contacts
yeah you're allowed to Blink that's fine
all right I'm sorry one more time what's
your name again
Kayla all right Kayla you understand
we're just doing our job just doing our
due diligence Thursday night obviously
people we don't drink on Thursday nights
okay all right
so I'm gonna run you through two more
quick tests okay do you have any
injuries that would affect you walking
in a straight line balancing on one leg
nothing at all okay
all right the first test I'm going to
run you through is a walking turn okay
I'm gonna explain and demonstrate
everything to you I just want you to
stand like this we're going to use this
white line as our line okay you're gonna
stand with your right heel touching your
left toe just like this yep you're going
to stay in that position arms down to
your sides and just pay attention to my
instructions okay
all right
what you're going to do is you're going
to take nine Heel To Toe steps in a
straight line you're going to count out
loud each step your eyes are going to be
focused on your feet okay arms are going
to be down at your side it's going to
look like this
one
two
three and so on until you get to nine
once you get to nine you're going to
keep your lead foot planted on the line
okay you're going to take a series of
small steps to turn around just like
this
you're going to take nine heel toe steps
back the same exact manner okay do you
have any questions for me
none at all
right you can begin
[Music]
okay one more test it's uh the one leg
stand okay
similar to last test I'm gonna explain
and demonstrate everything all right
this time just stand with your feet
together just like this and your arms
down your sides don't be getting
anything until I tell you to do so okay
all right you're gonna pick one leg of
your choice and you're gonna raise it
approximately six inches off the ground
the foot's gonna stay parallel to the
ground again arms down to your sides
eyes are going to be focused on the foot
that's raised it's gonna look like this
one one thousand two one thousand three
one thousand and so on until you tell
you to stop okay
all right you can be good
so keep going
where we left though keep going keep
going right where you left off keep
going
okay you can stop all right yeah your
name's Kayla right yeah all right listen
Kayla you have warrants okay so you're
going to be placed under arrest right
now okay turn around for me answer on
your back all right you're not being
placed under arrest for DWI
she has warrants okay
she's trapped traffic warrants
okay
we'll have more information to you for
you when we get to our police station
[Music]
Kayla you have anything on you I'm gonna
I'm gonna do a quick search okay she
didn't have weapons or anything like
that on you
so it looked like you had free warrants
and one of them was three warrants out
of uh I think one was out of Edison I
have a court date tomorrow okay okay I
think one was raw away no one of my
words is
yeah okay and I've been trying to pay it
you didn't go to court or you didn't pay
your tickets no
450. yeah
all right
[Music]
let me place you in the back of my car
over here okay okay no no she's all
right you can talk to her all right
[Music]
we're just going to take her back to our
headquarters and
your head it's like five minutes from
here I'll get you the information just
stand back for me just stand back for me
okay
we will
oh okay okay go ahead and have a seat
come here
all right um
Kayla your phone your um wallet all that
stuff
I'm gonna get all that in order yeah
we're gonna bring it with us
no if she wants it though do you want to
bring it with you
[Music]
okay you don't want any of your stuff
I'm
I know
all right
let me open the window
yeah yeah and who all right what's your
name again
zero four twelve
I love you
I'm Coming For You Friend
it's not even their car it's their
friend's car
it's my bedtime
where'd your ride go don't worry
Kayla do you want any of your stuff
you don't want to bring anything your
phone
your wallet nothing
I'm not gonna be able to use it once I
get there
okay you can use it I'll let you use it
are you sure your cell phone
yeah I'll tell her I can roll the window
down
he's giving me my phone not look you
know the address no I need you all right
my love I need to call I need to know
everyone it's gonna let me Shut the [ __ ]
up shut up shut up if it's gonna let me
use my my phone in this back seat let me
use my phone in this basically just pull
up where I'm at
Old Bridge Police Department okay does
the if he's wrong let me do that tell
him to come here how is he gonna tell
him to come here tell him to come here
girl they're not playing he's coming
here right now
I just got pulled up come here tell him
to come here she wants to talk to you
when are you gonna let me use my phone
can I use it in here no as soon as we
get back to the station I'll let you use
it you're gonna let me use it how many
calls to watch it doesn't matter it
doesn't matter all right typically we'll
get your phone if your wallet whatever
else you need give me my phone look I'm
gonna give it to him I just I'm gonna
text you with everything
um there's no need to text me I'm coming
yeah I got my phone
are you driving that car are you gonna
take the car
yeah okay yep
Kayla you understand what's going on
right now
I know I know why I'm on there DWI as
well
yep his test according to his test you
failed okay
how
that's the test that he ran you know
that's he's he's uh you know what it's
fine I'm it's fine are you gonna keep
your word though
are you sure you can use your phone yeah
absolutely okay
okay give me my phone
oh my God
hey are you okay yes can you try to get
my phone please do you have time you're
gonna get one phone call you need to
call one of them let me call somebody
off my phone he just said that Trina
went to the car to get the phone yeah
that's all I need I'll make the calls
that I need and she know where I'm at
yeah she goes to Old Bridge Police
Department whatever it is
Linden don't come get you they said
so you just need your phone that's it
that's all I need yeah okay uh no no no
don't give it to me
unless you can't have the phone no no no
no no why can't you have one
that's more policy
so I'm please no I'm listen I'm gonna
let you use your phone
[Music]
before you take the car
you just have to sign for it you have a
Brunswick do you just go with me yeah
um my love can you do me a favor yeah
okay hold on one sec man okay one second
I'll be right with you
yeah no as I think um
bye guys I got it
Sarge what about like making a copy of
it
obviously we're not making a copy of our
license here right
no we don't need a license okay
all right
so did he explain the John's law to you
basically you're responsible for the
next 12 hours whenever she Silvers up
you're responsible making sure she
doesn't get behind the wheel all right
and drive the car and God forbid she did
do that you'd be liable okay if you want
to read it word for word it's here okay
so
what I need you to do is print your name
here
your address right underneath
[Music]
okay
um and then just sign right if you
acknowledge
on a
gray Honda looks like just overnight
you have any questions
what's your phone number
all right you're free to go you take the
car
do you have something for me
you got a question no all right
so you had six nvgn
I always she told me before I said that
made me look like an idiot
all right
yeah
a car doing well over 100 miles an hour
20 year old driver for two or 18 year
old passengers yeah probationary license
okay with the neck tattoos and like a
Gucci bag he's like 18 years old
yeah no that was the passenger yeah
they were a unique bunch
if I had a casting material
I saw me out never even hit the brake
was that the White House it was a blue
uh Honda oh okay
it was still wet like the roads were
still wet
yeah yeah
so that was right after I passed you you
were sitting there yeah yeah I went down
to cookies and then
some came over the bridge I was like
they almost he almost hit the barrier or
the parkway that car whatever that's
fine that's five
you know how many times that's five I
don't know what it is with that section
but we've had so many flip there when I
first got it tired
from the tractor trailers oh of a car
it's flipped three times in the air
genius
yeah this color though coming back from
a wedding and they were
but he went yep been over and they were
like seven of them
there were seven we walked up me and
Aaron walked up I was I was we've been
training I might have gotten I invited
because I was on midnight I was praying
with him and there's all you saw were
like
hands against all the windows open the
doors
as soon as we like got the fire
department trying to open the door they
started crawling out one one two three
[Music]
yeah yep I'm just gonna do our uh her
e-tickets real quick and then I'll head
okay nuts
you have a property bag in the back
that's fine
five bucks all that money
what do you mean a toe slip
oh yeah I thought you said you still
have to
all right let's see
all right
we're from CVS
foreign
so you're going to be getting the DWI
okay
you had um
three warrants okay
yeah and the reason that you know in New
Jersey we only arrest for warrants that
are over 500 one of yours was over 500.
which was uh I think it was the Edison
one
so basically we're going to be
contacting Elizabeth and they're going
to let us know if they'll just let you
pay they want us or not and then you get
a court a new court date or if um they
want to pick you up because it's crazy
because as soon as I wanted to pay my
runoff for Elizabeth get your ticket I
had no I just got my my apartment
I just got my apartment so I've been
paying my ring you know and every time
that I rather I have 650 to pay my
warrant yeah I gotta pay rent I got you
listen I got it
doing my job but do you think I'm just
supposed to let me go or They're Gonna
Keep Me
um
usually with traffic they'll just let
you pay it
um being that I've kind of been saying
on this for something about the money
for it I do right if you listen let me
go right now I do have the money no
someone would burn I'm just saying like
you know one in the morning two days
from now whatever
tonight tonight we would need it in cash
all right 650 cash 550 515 cash if if
they let us if they let you do that we
gotta talk we got to get in touch with
them okay
but do you think if I can I can probably
get it to that if you let me make my
phone calls I can't get it today
that's why it could be cash
there's a 550 right 550 yep someone okay
[Music]
I can't make no clothes in here right
there you go you can't you I'm sorry you
can't make no calls in here right no no
we'll be there soon though
I'm just finishing up so how far is it
from here it's like five minutes okay
I don't want to make out pull over
um so you were uh like I said you had a
partial break laid out
and then you know you were
you were driving pretty in and out of
your lanes a little bit
you had your blinker on it looked like
you were gonna turn you started turning
and you you know you stayed on 34.
so
just tinted windows right yeah that's
it's not my car I was just looking her
out for a favor you know you obviously
been drinking tonight too though I was
like
but you failed his test and that yeah
that's why I was like wait because I
don't feel like you when you were
telling me what to do I don't feel like
I really failed you but yeah like I said
it was glad to partner with you so I
understand
but I knew I took it as like a rabbit
running for so long it's okay what'd you
say I said I've been you know I'm not
gonna lie to you yeah like Yeah from the
warrant just because you know I have so
much I have two small kids and I have a
house rent to pay every month you know
yeah I mean that's the only reason why
like I just started working again I just
started getting myself together so when
I had it every time that I did have I
had to pay rent so it was like I write
my rent I roof over my head or a
warranty so now I'm taking this I was
like all right I done ran for so long
you know like in the sense you knew it
was coming to town it is fine that's why
I give you my ID because if honestly I'm
Gonna Keep the Alias I'm not gonna lie
to you
I appreciate you being honest with me so
far
I'm not gonna do myself no more harm
than what are my real cousin I'm
but I appreciate you for you know
working with me and letting me get my
phone calls when we get where we going
I really do appreciate you
I'm gonna be hanging
thank you
I get that can you tell me the address
to where we at right now where we're
going now where we're going to yeah give
me one sec no you're gonna have to give
it to me right now just when we get
there and I'm able to use my phone so I
can let you know
foreign
[Music]
perfect
Serge is that are right if we're not
going to switch by that quarters through
quick search
[Music]
yeah foreign
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
foreign
[Music]
[Music]
foreign
[Music]
thank you
and step up
we're gonna be going right through that
door over there okay so we're gonna be
going right through that door there
there's a female
um
a female officer here she's going to
search you okay
[Music]
right there
to the right you just face that wall to
the right for me
[Music]
take these off here
do you have any jewelry on
nothing at all okay
I'm gonna need you to take the jacket
off and this your shoe is off okay
say it again
can you pee here yeah
yeah you're just gonna have to hold it
for a little bit okay
no jewelry at all
so because of the warrants I'm not we
have to get in touch with um
where is it again out of the 550
whatever we said it was Elizabeth if we
gotta get in touch with them and see
what they want to do you ultimately they
have you know they're gonna make the
call whether they want someone to come
pick you up and then you're gonna go
back to Elizabeth or they might I don't
know I don't know but I will say it's
more what's that
if you want to go ahead yeah
but I wouldn't like no one can come and
pick you up because we don't know what
this happened about you yet if it was
just a DWI you'd be getting released as
soon as we book you but we got to get in
touch with uh Elizabeth and see what
they want to do
you don't have to
go
hold on one sec
[Music]
