Hi, I'm Sheriff Ryan Norman of the McCracken County Sheriff's Office. The following video and photographs are of a vehicle pursuit in response to resistance on Friday, November 7th, 2025. The incident began at approximately 8:00 p.m. Our goal in releasing this video is to better inform the public. Rightly so, this incident garnered quite a bit of public attention. I believe that this review will help the public understand what occurred that evening as well as what the deputies and officers of this county faced. This video begins after McCracken County Sheriff's Office was notified that a Marshall County deputy was in pursuit of a vehicle. The vehicle pursuit began in the Hard Money area. The McCracken County Sheriff's Office became involved in the pursuit on South Friendship around Lone Oak Road. Prior to the start of this video, a McCracken County deputy had already successfully deployed a tire deflation device against the rear tires of the truck. Corporal Crown was the first McCracken County deputy to be actively involved in the vehicle pursuit. The Marshall [snorts] County deputy allows Corporal Crown to take the lead position. >> 21. I'm number two car. We're continuing towards North Ranch. He is towards Canon Drive. Canon Drive 21 right on Canon towards New North Red. [music] New North Red. Any units up there on Blandville? Get ready. >> 21. We're cutting back behind Banks Market. behind Banks Market back towards New Friendship and we're back. Lone Oak and Lake View. Lone Oak and Lake View. He's starting to lose it. He's [music] getting a lot of control here. Spikes were good. He's losing his back tires. Inbound on Lone Oak Road towards the interstate. Speeds are at 60. Medium traffic. He's driving pretty. >> As Sergeant Cook of the Paduka Police Department readies his tire deflation device, the suspect fires at Sergeant Cook multiple times. One round [snorts] strikes the glass of the cargo area of Sergeant Cook's vehicle just feet from Sergeant Cook. It is unknown where the other bullets went. 21. He's starting to lose pieces off his car. Ain't going to last much longer. >> Continuing inbound Lo Road. Speeds at 70 towards the interstate. Pass the McDonald's. >> 21. You want to try to pin him up here? >> If he gets low enough speeds. Supervisor on the radio. At this point, deputies discuss performing a precision immobilization technique or pit maneuver to stop the pursuit and end the danger to the public. >> Shots fired. Shots fired. >> The suspect shoots out his driver's side window towards Corporal Crown. One bullet strikes the hood of Corpal Crown's vehicle and ricochets into the windshield directly in front of Corporal Crown. Luckily, it did not penetrate the windshield. Shots fired. Shots fired. He is shooting back at me. We are continuing inbound Lono Road [clears throat] passing lures. Inbound Lo Road passing lords. 21 shots fired. continuing to shoot backwards from the driver's side window. >> The suspect again shoots at Corporal Crown. Corporal Crown's front bumper was also struck by a bullet, but we are unsure exactly when it occurred. 21 continuing Lone Oak Road inbound Lone Oak Road towards Hannon Plaza vehicles in 21. He's on a rim. He's starting to lose it. >> All units involved, be ready. When he gets out, he's going to start shooting. Heat. Hey. Hey. Hey. Shots were fired. He just hit in my vehicle. 37. >> As Deputy Bradley attempts to get into position to assist in the pursuit. The suspect also shoots at him. His vehicle is struck at least twice. One round striking the back door, missing Deputy Bradley by a couple of feet. Knowing that the pursuit cannot be terminated and that the suspect is likely to seriously hurt or kill someone, Corporal Crown continues to attempt a pit maneuver. >> 21 eyes rammed him.
