On July 25th, 2025, police were called to a Cole store after staff reported a shoplifting incident. Two people were seen on security cameras taking items without paying and then leaving the store. >> Hi, can you step out? Hey, my man. I saw you. Can you come back here? >> Yeah, come back here. Hi. She also told the officer she had a driving permit but wasn't allowed to drive alone, which is why her friend was driving. >> Do you have a driver's license on you? Don't go back in the car. >> As the officers kept pressing, the second person admitted to picking something up, but said they put it back because they didn't have enough cash. >> Hey, what'd you take from inside? >> Nothing. I put it back. I only had cash. Only had $6. >> So, there's nothing in that car that was from Kohl's. Cuz we're going to check. Just let you know. It's not my car, so you couldn't search the car. >> Okay, there's nothing in that car from Kohl's. You can look at each other all you want. We're going to figure it out. And we see that we have the cameras. So, I I rather have you be honest with me so I can make this process easier and we can get this over with. All right. So, we'll do what you got to do. The police continued their investigation, reviewing camera footage and preparing to search the car to confirm the facts. And you're telling me I just I'm going to catch another case. You're getting off in 3 months. You're getting off parole. You could sit in a joint. You could do a program for a month and you'll get out. Compared to me, I got to sit faithfully 2 years down there not doing. And nobody helps your mom with your brother. Everything comes on me. I do everything to support, help, and do everything. That's why I'm sitting here looking at him. I'm not taking no blame for nothing cuz you were on camera, too. Not doing this back and forth. He I like how every cop wants to be rude to me when I'm being black honest and then they let the person that did the most of the work just have his phone, no can like you're against women, just say that. >> I don't think that's what it is. >> I feel like it is. They probably they're going to read our report, but they're going to watch the camera footage. Okay. >> So, let's go. >> In the end, both individuals were arrested for felony retail theft because they were on probation. Those cases are now affected, too.
