on July 25th 2023 chambley police officers responded to a reported fraud incident in chambley Georgia a man was attempting to cash a stolen check for $1,791 when officers arrived none of the employees at the check cashing place spoke English the officers contacted the owner of the establishment who explained over the phone that they had done a preliminary investigation hello hi how can I help you I rest told me that this is a stolen check they and the check wasen so Che okay do you have their number yes you got it I got it I'm ready for it all it is okay and what's the name of their business it's a restaurant C restaurant okay and who did you speak with I spoke with the manager I didn't get his name but if you call that number you okay who are you my name is owner okay does any of your employee speak English okay can you have him give me the [Music] check s speak where's the restaurant at uh let's try now he doesn't some Tha Restaurant Norcross has that even been reped stolen out of [ __ ] North Cross do they have a case number do you know I didn't ask them but if you give them a call uh the manager should be able to give you that he asked me to not to cash it and he said that um trying to get contact of the owner for a tie in nor cross Norcross number hey so we have a check um at a location here in the city of shamble um the owner of the store is saying that your guys's establishment was burglarized recent how' you you get this check uh okay so all right the the that that was the place was I was the one do what the day that they the place was um getting we saw from the other side um of the place that we were thinking right so I also follow the guy that was trying to um enter to the place I called 911 right and I stay outside not the guys one of the guys that was in from apparently they came in and in get after the guys okay you're giving me a real long roundabout story that I don't care about I asked you how you came into possession of this all right so I didn't ask for the life story okay so they left it um they left two of us so I think on my my car so but I didn't but I would like to speak with the with own so this was left in so this was left on your car it wasn't paid to you well yeah okay cool docent yeah okay okay so you found this where you found this where he said he found it from the the guys that robbed the place no not they left it on his car you just you just said that okay so we were when they when they stole the place right we saw it and also I I follow the guy with my car but couldn't CCH him right so I call 911 they came we were outside but one of the guys that was in the place watching with us he came from the back I don't know how he get in dude I don't care about that I don't care about a burglary that happened in Norcross I care about how you got this you said you got this because you picked it up off of your car and then it wasn't paid to you that's what you just said yes I did wrote on the check who signed this who signed this no that was okay that was a guy that was paying me because I did a um uh um P um things on the house nothing what you're saying makes sense your story is changing I said that was the checks that was I I found in my car you found the check in your car yes and he told me that it was his so he was going to write that one for me so that's why he see there's a third store hello no it's not a third store hello so hang up the phone hey yeah um hang the phone up we're talking to you so who wrote this check to you I didn't I said who that was someone else and who is that someone else J right now what's his name Jesus Jesus I what's his phone number uh you might want to start finding out what you know cuz right now it's not looking good for you homie I know that's why I want to talk with with with the with the owner right now okay the owner in Norcross we're in shambling so we're not going to Norcross so you can talk to the owner all right probably the number something what's the number of the person who's gave I have sir honest yeah but um so you have a check that ended up in your car by someone who you don't know well I know him but I don't have his number he always there at the ding place is he is he an employee of this place does he work so you got a check from somebody who's not an employee of this place so you get this check from a guy that you say doesn't work there you don't know who he is this wasn't paid to you by a business you live in Tucker you come to shamble and the check was taken from Norcross bro first put come on man I speak you don't need to speak with anybody man I think we pretty much got the story down please can can I tell someone to come and get my properties no Privateer thank you they spoke enough for me to be like okay dude yeah you're the suspect was arrested and placed in the back of the police vehicle where he began crying and pleading with officers for help [Music] he's saying if has he ever cash checks here before no first time he know what he was doing yeah so the first time he said that he signed he wrote well he found the check in his car yeah for he he found the check on his car and then I was like so who signed the check like bro come on man at least try make it challenging for me this B in here you got her number this is I'm Rusty on my forgeries hey this is like second isn't it huh is this forgery second uh yeah if he uh only if he signed it though that's his name on there look at the cheick that's his name yeah this part well he's puted sign on the back right which he scribble okay maybe it's first not what it look like says other than a check it's not it look please don't take me please any check within the amount of 1500 what is it that bam it's third still felony I believe brother you should have thought about that before you start trying to scam people out of money I I can help please forgery third see he was Dumb and the limits the the threshold is 1500 he did
