on November 18th 2023 pensville Township Police responded to a crash at 12:44 a.m. in pensville New Jersey where a vehicle struck a utility pole snapping it in half before plowing into a multif family apartment complex the driver identified as Charles M Miller 432 son of Salem County Sheriff was found passed out behind the wheel County 548 I'm out with the vehicle hey you okay there 50 miles is he still in there he's moving County 548 dispatch EMS and fire department this vehicle is smoking when officers woke him up Miller appeared confused and unaware of the crash sir count into a house oh Jesus yeah sir hey hey you you were in a car accident you all right what's up you were in a car accident are you okay do you have any pain what are you talking about no not yet listen hey relax you he follow us immediately and then he weed him out put him in C was he in the truck when you guys got here yeah he was like out of it and I woke him up and then I asked him if he was hurt or had to feel any pain and he really couldn't say he was just mad at me for waking him up and then uh started freaking out so I couldn't get feels hurt or not out of him just alcohol you think drug don't know are you going back with him yeah he just told me through okay during Miller's transport to the police station officers searched his vehicle and discovered 36 bags of heroin six vials of cracked cocaine four used hero one wax folds and five Xanax pills Miller Faces multiple charges including two counts of possession of a schedule one substance possession of prescription drugs without a prescription Xanax DUI resisting arrest aggravated assault on law enforcement reckless endangerment and creating a public nuisance he also received several motor vehicle citations including careless driving and improper lane use when asked for a statement Miller's father mother the Salem County Sheriff said I've been in law enforcement for 44 years and I've always prided myself on staying out of matters involving family I trust the police department to conduct their independent investigation and whatever the outcome it will be handled accordingly we had the crash here with the vehicle to a
