#CrimeCamNow On November 18, 2023, Pennsville Township Police responded to a crash at 12:44 a.m. in Pennsville, New Jersey, where a vehicle struck a utility pole—snapping it in half—before plowing into a multi-family apartment complex. The driver, identified as Charles M. Miller IV, 32, son of Salem County’s sheriff, was found passed out behind the wheel. When officers woke him up, Miller appeared confused and unaware of the crash. As officers tried to assist him out of the vehicle, Miller suddenly became combative and after a brief struggle, he was placed in handcuffs and secured in the back of a patrol car. Due to the crash’s impact, the building sustained structural and electrical damage, displacing three families. EMS arrived on scene and assessed Miller, who did not report any injuries and was medically cleared. What initially appeared to be a routine DUI took a shocking turn.
