on June 7th 2022 chamy police officer on a routine Patrol pulled over a vehicle with fake tag near Hometown studios in chamble Georgia the driver initially claimed innocence stating that he had just purchased the car and was unaware of any wrongdoing the officer aiming for cooperation proposed leniency in exchange for information about the source of the fake tags in the area hello off sham the reason I stopped you is cuz this tag doesn't come back to this vehicle I had just bought this yesterday I just okay who' you get the temp tag from I got it from um a person what's his name Samuel some sh Samuel I just bought it yesterday where is uh who is Samuel Samuel be over here I just got it like maybe a couple of days but I didn't get the chance to drive it I was all right so let me just be honest with you let's let's both be real with each other okay 4 I know all these temp tags over here don't come back to the vehicle okay okay so I know so listen to me I know this vehicle wasn't here on Friday cuz this wasn't one that we uh had it was here Friday now was it yeah oh well maybe it wasn't over here when we were here Friday no I had bought it that's AB what what I'm saying though is your tag isn't one that we saw Friday okay so you can help me and I'll help you what you need me to do all right I want to know who's giving these temp tags it's the what's his name again Samuel Samuel he lives over here yeah that's the only thing I give you yeah I just bought this I ain't on that series but I can help you all right what's the uh do you know his last name uh Sam it's Samuel Carter I think Carter yeah you know what room he stays in I think it's like 213 okay has he been over here for a while yeah like a month or two that's what made me shop with him and everything that's it so did you buy the car from him or just the tag I just bought the tag and I had the car for a minute but that's why I ain't drive it Friday I was you do have insurance on it though right I just now put some a little bit all right I about say it's showing that it has valid insurance so I'm not going to tow it or anything like that okay so I'm going to let you keep your car and you help me out I'll help you out I do guys see your license though okay all right are they valid okay I'll be right back all right 347 if there's a unit nearby can you 59 over here however the situ situation took a bizarre twist when the officer checked the driver's license it turned out to belong to an entirely different person for I'm give you a Georgia Oland number and if you advise who it returns to um quick rundown this is a fake you saw the email come out about the Texas tags anyways mhm all right so he gave me a fake ID the driver did the driver explained that he had also acquired the license from Samuel asserting he was aware that it's not real all right so you already know what's up right yeah so what's uh I'm going to go ahead and have you step out okay yeah I'll take these I step out and step uh turn Face away from us and all right he's going to um just pat you down okay all right you have anything else in the car no what's going on so you being entertained cuz one you gave me a fake license okay fake license all right listen I've been completely upfront with you I told you why I stopped you I told you that's my real name okay maybe that's your real name but is that your real license number no it comes back to a white male okay so when I ran your name like that all right so I don't know where the license are fake anyways it's a fake ID okay uh what's your birthday all right it's not okay I I didn't even did nothing wrong I cooperate what you asked you did I listen when if it if it hadn't been for the license but I said I didn't even that's I didn't even know nothing about that okay that's why I gave it to that's my real name on there that is your real name on there but when you when I run that license number it comes back to a white male but I didn't know nothing about that man I okay so where did you get your license from I told you where I got it from this these where'd you get these from I told you where I got it from no you told me where you got the license plate from no you asked me where the license plate was here did you had this car that day I said no no I asked you where you got the license plate from you said from Samuel this you got this from Samuel as well yeah but he didn't tell me that was fake enough nothing okay come on now okay listen to me all right listen my name is on here listen to me your name is on here yeah but this right here is a fake ID okay you can't buy a license from some dude in a hotel you know that you should know that but I'm in a situation I a have no choice cuz I a I can't get no job or nothing okay and listen I understand that okay but you can't do this is there anything else in the car anything like that um I got I got some Waters I got to put in the other side let me Mo that what's up he got you got ID on you are you do you stay over here too no I was actually visiting him okay so I was up front with the Y when I walked to the door um the reason why he's in CS is cuz this ID that he gave me is a complete fake okay the number comes back to a white male his name is on here but then he also has a warrant when I ran the name okay so that's that's uh that's completely separate from when I said I would work with him about the car I was going to give him a warning and let him keep the car but can't give me a fake idea okay so we're just going to stand by for just a second all [Applause] right9 347 radio that last name and date of birth that I ran can you run it as well and then confirm the warrant unconvinced by the driver's explanation the officer made the arrest the charges included forgery in the first degree and driving without a valid license did the tag come back to that car no what's it come back to nothing Well it comes back as expired but it doesn't even come back it actually doesn't come back to anything you want a photo of the vent you want to run the vent have you run yeah I did well I ran the VIN over here when I was driving through so and then I saw him on Pi I have all I mean I ran all the vins already with the ones I can see other ones have uh the VIN covered do an inventory search this is his pH yeah let's go you got battery what that mean feel that you can tell right there it's uh oh yeah oh and it's not even aligned this stuff is not even straight on there so all right so there's no kind of reflective on it either I mean I think it's it's a legit fake I mean it's a good one do you want me to get all his information his yeah you just at least get a phone number and find out where he's actually staying yeah he said he lives in more this dude turns to him and that and questions him about the room over here so I think he knows a little more than he just came to visit but I ain't got nothing on them usually you can feel the signature a little bit yeah it's a good one better than the kids that it's better than the ones the kids had down there at St P yeah it's had I like cuz I was just going to get information from I mean had I not ran the O in and just ran his name you want to know something too that sticks out it's so bold mine never looks this C well right it's and it's kind of um has a hazy look over here yeah oh and that's what makes everything else look so bold yeah cuz like let's see well he said it's like license is suspended too he said they were his actual license is suspended see appreciate you y the driver was then transported to the daab county jail leaving behind a trail of questions about the mysterious Samuel in the underground world of fake tags in chamy be safe all right
