On October 30th, 2025, a routine shoplifting call at Walmart quickly escalated when officers spotted a suspect matching the description nearby. The encounter turned chaotic as the individual took off running, leading police on a tense pursuit. Here are the events that occurred. 168 not on a shoplifting, sir. Hey, what's up, bud? That's when I tackled it. >> Didn't look like he threw anything, but I couldn't I couldn't be sure. >> He walked up these stairs. Ambulance is right here. They saw him. He ran up the stairs. I go, "Well, I got you now. You're not going anywhere. No one." >> He didn't even try the door. He started walking back down. Got right here. >> Yeah. If you want to research it, >> I had him in your arms. He tried to go that way, but also was right there. I just grabbed him and threw him in the ground. >> Yeah. I had to find a car cuz the other the >> the pursuit came to an end in front of an expo center where officers apprehended a 29-year-old male, charging him with shoplifting, resisting arrest by force, and hindering apprehension for providing false information. A check revealed he also had an active no warrant, so he was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.
