a lawyer I haven't really decided I really wanted to become a guardian of item um okay that's what I've really wanted to do but you know that costs a lot of money so really yeah yeah a lot of money to go to law school so I've just been trying to work on my paralal degree oh yeah to go to law school yeah I so I've been working on a paralal degree trying to get that in order I would want to be a prosecutor I think initially I thought about it I thought about it but I just I the thing is I have a thing against like putting people in prison you know but that's the thing like you have discretion you only put the ones in that need to go yeah but there's a lot of people that need to go you know what I mean that's what I mean like there's a lot of people that need to go right versus a lot of people that don't need to be in there and that's what as a prosecutor you have say over who goes and who doesn't yeah I've thought about it but I've also thought about just saying in like paralal you know yeah I get it so there's a lot of um decisions to make but I definitely want to be in the legal field but like I said I've never been anywhere like this so this is definitely gives me a different perspective definitely gives me a different perspective I've been in the Newton County Jail that was something imag crackheads in there that was something I um that definitely put me in a different space you know what I mean mhm no I mean I've never been around people like that so like you know it's just a different it's different to be around people who are repeat criminals you know yeah versus people who are not I've looked up a lot of prosecutors across the state because their salaries are public and I make more than most of them really and I don't have any student loan debt so really if I went to law school I wouldn't be able to practice until I was like 35 or 36 and then I'd have all that debt and I'd start making less than I make right now so it's kind of like it's a dream but what's the point yeah I just don't want to owe anybody money I've been there you know owing people money and the paycheck to paycheck and Y that's where I'm at right now like I've been like I've gone through three or four years of of public education where I've gone to college I've done what I've needed to do but I've only taken two classes at a time because that's all I can afford to do mhm but I just can't afford to get my degree on that because I still have to work fulltime in order to get my degree and I've looked at like I've looked at getting my full-time degree looking at getting my even part-time degree whether it be paralal or full-time getting my um criminal justice degree like it's hard like even with going to school so like what I've decided to do with with Amazon on you ready to go in and pretend to be inmates at the Fon County Jail well why fton County yeah so they you know it's really dangerous because you can kill being there like just in general yeah so they hide who they are they pretend to be inmates and there are women who T do it there are men who tend to do it and like they just kind of separate them and like pretend that their inmates or whatever record them the whole time and it's really interesting because you get to see how they interact with the inmates and stuff like that but like it's also very scary because they're put in very sketchy situations like if they're if if they find out they could be murdered you know what I mean so it's super interesting just to see how they react to it and how they handle it and how they function inside of a then we'll have you bow again okay do the people who have to sit in here like stay in here or do they like eventually bond out like why do they have to stay here so there's a bond here yes so this is mostly in here is uh pre-trial inmates they sit until they see a judge to get a bond they see a judge every day well there's a hearing every day right so if you're Bas it's the Bas the judge gets full discretion on what the bond is and if they set a bond and it depends on the charge how severe it is your criminal history your priors if you're a Flight Risk etc etc etc but it would surprise you the things that they let people out for they set Bond very low and they they don't want people in here right now yeah cuz like most of the time see I worked for an attorney from 2015 2017 so I didn't really get to see any preliminary hearings because most of the time most people would either be like hey I'm out of here they would get out as soon as they could or they would fight and they would have to stay in jail so I didn't really get to see a lot of preliminary hearings but they always interest me so like that's why I'm asking just CU like it's just interesting to preliminary hearings are okay they're kind of annoying so a prelim is different than a bond hearing a prelim attor a prelim you have an attorney there representing you and it's it's basically a probable cause hearing so when I go to him usually the defense attorneys try to put you on trial it's like it's not a trial like they want to ask you well well did you this could it have been this person instead of this guy could it it's like we're just talking about probable cause like she said he hit her she was bleeding he ran from me that's it which makes it seem guilty so that's enough to arrest that's all that hearing is supposed to be about yeah then they start going into the like maybe he ran because he scared of you that's not a trial this is just a probable cause preliminary hearing did I violate this person's rights by arresting them or was I right to think that they were guilty and arrest them you know so yeah most of the time by the time we've gotone to the case they've already gotten past this like that's why like I'm just asking this cuz like I've never really had experience with this first hand and I think it'll be nice to like be able to talk about it firsthand eventually you know y so the judges can prescribe a bond like they can say ahead of time they can it's like a preset is what it's called so if the person has if it's a traffic offense including DUI it's a traffic offense and the person's never been arrested before then they can o meaning leave on their own recognizance sign a form promise to come to court and they'll let you out the front door so that's the way it works here in other counties the judge might say preset bond for DUI is $5,000 you have to come up with 10% if you go through a bondsman yeah that's a lot but it's understandable they just want to make sure people will come back for court you know yeah that's fair because I know like people in Barrow County probably would not come back to court have they given the option they would probably not yeah the thing is that's where I was born and raised as Barrow County the thing is if you don't come back then you have a warrant and your license gets suspended and all that stuff and it's just not even worth it but because you think this is annoying if you got picked up on a warrant and Barrow for not coming to court here they'd hold you in Barrow for up to 3 days before you can even come here in Bondo intoxication inside of me what happens then i' will let you go and apologize nice if you had a less safe fact meaning like if you if you blew through a red light or something I guess it depends the officer could book you in on that yeah to like make you pay a bond on a red light ticket or whatever but but if I pass this then will just let me go most likely yeah they could an officer could still make an arrest cuz they could say based on you failing the field sobriety that you were not safe to drive you were a less safe driver but yeah I don't usually do that luckily I've never been wrong on the side of the road when I say someone's drunk we bring them back here and they usually are so all right you are a0 two when you're going up what does that mean that means you're more drunk now than you were when I stopped you which means you probably drank right before you got in the car is the theory not necessarily but okay so what does that mean me I was right so what does that mean does that
