When the deputy walked up, he was greeted with slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol. After being asked multiple times for her license, registration, and proof of insurance, she was eventually told to step out of the car. Her excuse, she's not from the area, and oh yeah, she just had a coral transplant in her left eye, so it's hard to see. So, to recap, hammered, pushing 80 and a 45, and can't see properly out of one eye. What could possibly go wrong? Things took a turn when her entitled attitude came out the moment she was asked to do a field sobriety test. Let's see how well this situation works out for her. >> How's it going? >> Good. No, I'm not going to ask you again. You're going to step out of the vehicle or I'm going to take you out of this vehicle. Walk back to the car. [Music] >> What's going on? >> What are you guys doing? You guys are driving way over speed limit. >> I'm not driving. >> I know you're not. What's that in your hand? >> Bottles of lotion. I guess I got out here. I've asked for the registration for the insurance >> like three times. >> Okay. >> So, where are you guys heading to? >> I'm headed to my parents house in off of Alligator Lake. >> Where y'all coming from? Alligator Lake is way over there. >> I know, but I I just had corial transplant in my eye, so it's really hard. DC through this hotline. So like >> So that doesn't If you can't drive at night, you shouldn't be driving at night. >> I'm happy to send a letter to a DMV to take away your license. >> If you can't drive at night, you should not be driving. >> I know, but I I can't I can't help my situation. >> So you smell of alcohol. I >> So it doesn't matter at this point. So now I'm going to ask you to do focus right exercises. >> Okay. I I can't do whatever you're going to pull out with your flashlight. I can't do that with my eye. I can't. >> Why not? >> I just had a corneal transplant. Like what do you not understand? Are you out of your mind? >> And ma'am, you said that and I said okay, >> ma'am. And I said I would I would say I would do everything. I would I would do everything. >> I said I would do it. And now you slam into my car. Well, we tried to put you in handcuffs out here. >> Why? >> And you didn't. It's 100% up to you, man. I'm talking to you. If you don't want to talk to me, you're just going to go to jail, get charged with the DUI refusal if you don't want to talk. That was all you. >> You're just really drunk. >> I'm not drunk. >> The unidentified woman probably shouldn't have been driving at night. She had just undergone a corneal transplant and was wearing only one contact lens, leaving her with no depth perception. Add in the fact that she was clearly intoxicated, slurring her words, and it's no surprise she was arrested for DUI and resisting without violence. Her blood alcohol content was 0.24%, triple the legal limit. As for her passenger, if you missed it, he was taken into custody shortly after she was handcuffed and escorted to another patrol car. Upset that officers went hands-on with her, he became confrontational with deputies and was arrested for public intoxication in disorderly conduct.
